Allow me to introduce myself to those who dont know me yet.I am 42years old and I have faced significant changes in my life. Eight years ago I had back operation( removed a cancerous tumor) I became a paraplegic and became completely reliant on a wheelchair.I was devasted.Since I was a single parent of 3 depants.
My middle daughter was 11 at the time and she had hydrocephalus(paraplegic totally dependent on me since birth). I didn't know how I was going to manage life all of a sudden came crashing on me all at once.
As days and months went by I became stronger emotionally as well as physically.I learned how to balance my life out being a parent having a job and a paraplegic at the same time
On the 04 August 2022 my daughter passed away, that was a huge set back for me.I felt all the pain and anger over again.Life has thought me that there are both triumphs and hardships.You should just make the best out of life and live it to the fullest cause tomorrow has no garentee to anyone
I formed Mekayla Helping Hands to break the different barriers and stereotypes.To assist persons with disabilities, to live their lives to the fullest.
I want to create a community where we can connect and share our unique stories without feeling left out
You earned your place in society and you deserve the right to humanity no matter which form of disability you have.
