We strive to provide fast and efficient medical treatment and stabilization to any person in need.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT!

Just after 11:00 the Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit received a call from Alpha Security Forum for a serious motor vehicle accident on Solomon Mahlangu Drive in the Wapadrand area of Pretoria East. On arrival we found that 2 occupants were entrapped on top of each other. One patient who sustained serious injuries was quickly extracted from the vehicle before mechanical advantage was used to force the door open to access the critically injured patient. Both patients were stabilized on scene before being transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

FALL FROM HEIGHTS!

Just after 08:00 the Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit received a call for a patient who sustained serious injuries after falling +-8 meters from a roof, hitting a wooden beam on the way down in the Lombardy area of Pretoria East. On arrival we found that the patient had sustained multiple critical injuries to their head, neck, chest, abdomen and back. The patient also sustained multiple long bone fractures. Shortly after arrival we were joined by multiple private ambulance services and the decision was quickly made to airlift the patient to a Level 1 specialist Trauma hospital in Johannesburg. The patient was handed over to the Netcare911 Aeromedical helicopter for transport.

The Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit received a call for a known asthmatic patient who was struggling to breathe in the Faerie Glen area of Pretoria east. Shortly after an off duty Advanced life support paramedic notified us that the patient had gone into cardiac arrest and he has started CPR. On scene our members joined by ER24 and PVES initiated an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Rescusitation with mechanical compression. After seeing notable improvement the patient was transported with active CPR to a nearby private hospital for further Rescusitation attempts. Unfortunately shortly after arrival the patient deteriorated rapidly and was declared as deceased.

After the incident the patients asthma pump was found to be empty. If you are diagnosed with asthma please carry an extra pump on you at all times.

HEAVY MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT!

Just before 10:00 the Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit received a call from Bidvest Airwing who observed a serious motor vehicle accident involving a truck and a passenger vehicle while patrolling along the R104 between the R515 and Rhenosterfontein Road in the Donkerhoek area of Pretoria East. On arrival we found one patient who sustained fatal injuries when the vehicles collided head-on. The patient was declared deceased on arrival. Specialized hydraulic rescue equipment had to be used to free the patient from the wreckage. The driver of the other vehicle was assessed on scene and did not sustain any injuries.

The scene was handed over to SAPS for investigation.
We send our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.

Fatal HEAVY MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT
R104 between the R515 and Rhenosterfontein road.

Complete road closure is imminent please avoid the are and use alternative routes.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT!

Just before 11:00 the Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit received a call for a motor vehicle accident on Garsfontein Road in the Menlyn area of Pretoria East. On arrival we found 1 patient with a large cut on their head. The patient was treated on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital by a private ambulance service.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT!

Just before 15:00 the Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit received a call for a serious motor vehicle accident on the N4 highway just after the Simon Vermooten offramp in the Equestria area of Pretoria East. On arrival we found one vehicle that left the road down an embankment after colliding with a bakkie at high speed. One patient sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on arrival. 2 other patients were assessed on scene and found to have sustained minor injuries. They received treatment on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The scene was handed over to SAPS to investigate the cause of the accident.

Medical Collapse.

A elderly patient collapsed at a restaurant in the Garsfontein area of Pretoria east. The patient was slightly dehydrated and received treatment on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital by Emergency Medical Solutions.
