Emergency services responded to a trauma incident this morning involving a patient who fell approximately 8 meters from a roof. Reports from the scene indicate that the patient also struck a wooden beam during the fall.

The patient sustained critical injuries during this incident.

The patient was stabilized on the scene by multiple emergency medical services before being handed over to the Netcare911 Aeromedical helicopter to be airlifted to a Level 1 specialist trauma hospital in Johannesburg.

Emergency services responded to a tragic collision this evening involving two vehicles and four pedestrians. Reports from the scene indicate that two vehicles collided in the intersection and subsequently struck the pedestrians standing next to the road.

One pedestrian tragically sustained fatal injuries.

Two pedestrians sustained life-threatening injuries, and one pedestrian along with three vehicle occupants sustained serious injuries.

All patients were stabilized on the scene by multiple emergency medical services before being transported to nearby hospitals.

The scene has been handed over to the South African Police Service for further investigation.
