Bus and road transport includes buses, coaches, and other road-based public transport. Important information may be communicated verbally by drivers or staff, including routes, destinations, stops and changes to the journey. For persons with hearing disabilities, particularly in noisy or crowded environments, this can create communication barriers.

Did you know that only 6 letters of the alphabet can be read on the lips?

This makes lip-reading extremely difficult, and the solution is speech-reading. While lip-reading only uses the lips to understand what is said, speech-reading also includes facial expression, gestures, and body language.
