โš ๏ธ High blood pressure is one of the leading risk factors for stroke, and it often has no symptoms at all. Many people feel perfectly healthy and have no idea that their blood pressure is too high. That's why it's so important to know your numbers. The only way to find out is to have your blood pressure measured โ€“ and it only takes a few minutes.

Quick question: when last did you do a breast self-check? ๐Ÿค” (No judgement โ€“ we know how long the to-do list is.) It takes about five minutes, once a month, and it's one of the simplest ways to get to know your body.

Swipe through for the three steps: look in the mirror for any changes in shape, size or skin, feel the whole breast using the flat pads of your fingers, and remember to check your armpits and up to your collarbone too. Choose a regular time each month โ€“ a few days after your period ends is ideal, or the same date every month if you no longer have periods โ€“ so that you can learn what's normal for you. ๐Ÿซถ

๐Ÿ‘‰ Remember, a self-check doesn't replace a clinical breast exam or a mammogram. If you notice anything new or unusual, speak to your doctor or clinic sister. Save this post so you have it handy next month!

It's Global Handwashing Day! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿงผ Yes, there really is a day for everything โ€“ but this one has earned its spot on the calendar.

Washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds is still one of the simplest ways to stop germs from spreading through your home, school and workplace. It sounds small, but it really does make a difference โ€“ especially with little ones in the house.

A quick reminder of when it matters most: before eating or preparing food, after using the bathroom, when you get home, and whenever someone in the family is feeling under the weather. Teach the kids to sing 'Happy Birthday' twice while they scrub and they'll get to 20 seconds every time (we can't promise it will be in tune ๐Ÿ˜‰).
