I think one of the things we have forgotten is how to honour the moments that change us.
We are so used to moving forward that we rarely stop to acknowledge when we have crossed a threshold. We finish the relationship, have the baby, lose someone, leave the old life behind, step into something new and then somehow we are expected to just keep going.
But transformation has always required descent.
There are parts of life that ask us to go inward. To shed. To grieve and to sit in the unknown before we know what comes next.
The ancient feminine understood this. She didn’t treat every ending as something to fix or every difficult season as something to get through as quickly as possible.
There was an understanding that these moments mattered.
And this is why I keep coming back to living with ritual.
Because ritual gives us a way to stop and say. This moment matters. Something is changing here. I am not the same woman I was before this.
And we definitely need more of that. 🌹
More ways to mark the beginnings and endings of our lives. More space to honour the women we have been and the women we are becoming.
More permission to let a season be what it is without immediately trying to move into the next one.
For me, remembering the sacred isn’t about adding more spirituality to life.
It’s about recognising the sacredness that is already here. Everyday. 🌹
