David Knox demonstrates that it is never too late to pursue a new career and discover a different future🙌. After many years working as a butcher, David made the decision to retrain, completing a Certificate III in Individual Support through Response Employment and Training.

Now working with Better Connections, David has found a career that allows him to support others and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. His journey reflects the value of lifelong learning, determination and embracing new opportunities. David is passionate about encouraging others to believe in themselves and recognise how vocational education can open doors at any stage of life. ✨👏

Last Wednesday, we celebrated the beautiful Tika Darshan Festival with our staff and participants at the Day Program ❤️

It was a wonderful opportunity to come together, share in cultural traditions and celebrate the diversity that makes our Better Connections community so special.
A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day meaningful and memorable. We love creating opportunities to learn from one another, celebrate different cultures and make special memories together! ✨

🎨🖌️ A look back at our last staff social! We had a great evening at Paint & Sip, filled with plenty of laughs, creativity and a little friendly competition.

We definitely had some Picassos in the team… and some very unique interpretations 😂🎨

🎉 Congratulations, David! We are so incredibly proud of you and the amazing contributions you make every day. Your dedication, hard work and commitment make such a positive difference, and we’re so lucky to have you as part of the team. 💜💛

After 30 years working in butchery, David Knox decided it was time for a career change. With supermarkets increasingly moving towards pre-packed meat, he decided to give the community services industry a go and discovered a new passion. 👇🏼

David is now completing his Certificate III in Individual Support with Better Connections NT, turning that career change into something truly rewarding.

His hard work and dedication have been recognised, with David named the 2026 NT Training Awards Vocational Student of the Year!

Congratulations, David! What a fantastic achievement, and proof that it’s never too late to find a new passion and take your career in a different direction. 💙

Meet Sophie, one of our amazing Support Workers in the NT! 🌟

Sophie is caring, observant and passionate about providing respectful, person-centred support. She loves helping participants and is always eager to learn new skills to provide the best possible care. 💛

🐶 Fun fact: Sophie’s favourite animal is dogs, and she loves Vietnamese food, especially spring rolls, pho and banh mi! 🥢

We’re so lucky to have you as part of the Better Connections team, Sophie! Thank you for the care and compassion you bring to your role. 🫶

This past week, we celebrated and recognised the incredible carers who make a difference in the lives of others every single day.

At Better Connections, we are so grateful for our amazing support workers who show compassion, kindness and dedication, helping our participants live meaningful, connected and fulfilling lives.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT 💛

Meet Rezaul, one of our wonderful Support Workers in the NT!

Rezaul brings patience, humour and a calm, supportive approach to his role, helping the people he supports feel safe, respected and valued.

With a passion for making others happy, Rezaul believes even a simple smile can make a difference. His favourite animal is a giraffe, and when he’s not supporting others, he enjoys watching movies, binge-watching series and reading books.

We’re proud to have Rezaul as part of the Better Connections team. Thank you for the kindness, positivity and care you bring to the people you support.
