Who had Pivot launching a road bike on their 2026 bingo card?

The new Pravia is Pivot's first foray into road bikes, although the guys behind the brand have worked on road bikes for other manufacturers in the past (think BH, Lemond and Titus).
From a bike-fit perspective, the Pravia looks more like an endurance frame than a purebred race steed. Compared with other endurance frames, though, it has slightly racier geometry, with stack, reach, and wheelbase similar to a Giant Defy.
The frame has internal storage for tubes and Killer Pythons, and the cockpits can be customised on the top-tier models, which is great to see.

It will be really cool to see what other road frames Pivot has in the works to complement this one.

Bahrain Victorious have ended their relationship with Bianchi bikes. 😭
I have no idea why they have parted ways, but one possible factor is that the design of Bianchi's top-tier Oltre isn't keeping up with modern rider demand and current fitting trends.
The fundamental frame geometry numbers from many manufacturers have stayed remarkably consistent over the last couple of decades while rider positions have changed drastically. Factor bikes will provide the team with bikes that cover fewer limitations from a fit perspective, particularly for riders who wish to run short cranks, aggressive saddle positions and narrow, aerodynamic postures.
I really hope Bianchi can pick themselves up and keep improving their bikes. The peloton needs flashes of celeste.

It's hard to believe that when I began bike fitting, many saddle manufacturers were reluctant to design saddles with broad central cutouts.

Brands like Selle SMP, ISM, and Selle Italia offered some of the earliest seats designed to shift weight away from sensitive perineal pressure.

Specialized committed to modest pressure relief designs while Fizik and Prologo took longer to come to the party.

Fast forward to 2026, and all major brands have models designed to reduce perineal pressure.

Central cutouts and grooves don't suit everyone, but it makes our jobs much easier to have a good range of saddle options.

Here's my full review of the new Ridley FALCN RS 2.0
The bike has a drastically steeper seat tube angle than almost any road bike, paired with the longest frame reach and bottom bracket drop.

It won't suit everyone, but I expect to see many more bikes with similar geometries hit the market in the next two years.

The new Ridley FALCN RS 2.0 is one of the first road bikes with true progressive geometry. Read a bike fitter's review of the bike.

Huge geometry changes are here on the new Ridley FALCN RS 2.

The Belgians seem to be at the forefront of progressive geometry frames, and the designers have gone all in with this new climbing bike.

The medium-size seat tube angle has steepened by 3°, the frame stack height is about 1cm taller, and the frame reach has increased by nearly 3cm to improve balance and handling.

Additionally, Ridley has drastically dropped the bottom bracket height, which means they are fully committed to larger tyres and shorter cranks.
Expect plenty more bikes like this in the next two years.

I'll pop a full review up later today.

I love Cervelo bikes, but finding all the geometry numbers on their website can be tricky.
The seat tube length is mysteriously absent from the Soloist geometry chart, but it is listed in the bike's product manual. The Soloist's cockpit stem angle is also a bit of a mystery; I'm estimating it's roughly -7°.

The final curveball was the cockpit dimensions on the S5's HB19 handlebar. The technical drawing shows some overlap between stem length and bar reach that, if accurate, would lead people to underestimate their required cockpit size. I presume it's just a sloppy diagram in the handlebar manual.

16/10/2026

Is it too much to ask bike brands to publish their stem angles and handlebar reach lengths on the website?

As a professional bike fitter, I have to nitpick every detail to help customers choose the right bike and components. It's pretty important when people are dropping $10k on a new bike. This isn't exclusively a Canyon issue, but it's just the one I've been dealing with this week.

20 Questions for 20 Years of Bike Fitting.
Q2. What's your favourite by brand?

If I go with my heart, it's hard to break away from the Italian brands; Cinelli is an iconic brand that I've had a bit to do with over the years. When I was a teenager racing, all I wanted was a set of airbrushed Cinelli RAM bars like Scarponi, Simoni and Cipo.
Another brand that is really growing on me is Factor. They are pushing the envelope with frame design and ticked a few boxes regarding geometry changes I've wanted to see for some time. They deserve some kudos for that
