After 7 wonderful years, it’s time to say farewell to Emma ❤️

Emma joined The Nutrition Circle as a fresh-faced new graduate, and it’s been such a privilege to watch her grow into the incredibly knowledgeable and respected sports dietitian she is today.

From navigating the challenges of COVID together (what a time that was!) to building her experience, confidence and reputation in the AFL world, Emma has certainly come a long way.

But beyond her professional achievements, it’s the care, dedication and genuine connection she’s brought to her clients that I’ll always be grateful for.

As Emma continues to pursue her passion for sports nutrition, I’m incredibly proud of what she’s achieved and excited to see where her career takes her next.

Thank you, Emma, for being such a valued part of TNC over the years. You’ve made a lasting contribution to our little practice, and you’ll certainly be missed.

Please join me in wishing Emma all the very best for her next chapter! ❤️

What if you gave yourself one Sunday afternoon to pause?

No appointments to organise. No meals to plan. No one else needing something from you.

Just three hours to move gently, eat something lovely, connect with other women and make a little more sense of the body you’re living in now.

Midlife, Menopause & Me is less than two weeks away.

You don’t need yoga experience or to have any of this figured out. You just need to think “Yes, I can give myself one afternoon.”

Apparently we’re fibre maxing now. 🥦🥝

I’ll admit, this was one of those social media nutrition trends that had somewhat passed me by… until our student dietitian, Ruby brought it to my attention. (She’s also written a blog to set the theory straight!)

We’ve had protein maxing, glucose hacks, gut health everything — and now fibre is having its moment.

And look, as a dietitian, am I happy people are talking about fibre? Absolutely. Most Australians could benefit from eating more of it.

But do we need to max it? Probably not.

Because this is where nutrition gets unnecessarily complicated. A genuinely helpful message like “eating enough fibre is good for your health” becomes another number to chase, another nutrient to optimise and another way to wonder whether you’re eating well enough.

So here’s what we think you need to know, and a few easy adds. Nothing more than that.

Because I’m all for more beans, wholegrains, fruit, veg, nuts and seeds.

I’m less convinced we need another thing to obsess over. 🫠

From August, I’ll be offering after-hours appointments on Wednesday evenings—making it a little easier to prioritise your nutrition without squeezing another appointment into your workday.

Whether you’re navigating perimenopause, wanting to feel more confident and relaxed around food, or simply need practical nutrition support that fits your life, I’d love to help.

Appointments will be available in person at Heathmont or online.

Bookings are now open via the link in bio.

As a mother, YOU are worthy of nourishment too.

I want to share one of my clients stories and the incredible ripple effects both her and her family have experienced, from taking gentle but intentional action 💛

~
For years, she felt caught in the middle: do I nibble on something with the kids at 5pm or wait to eat a “proper meal” with my husband later?

That in-between space meant dinner became less about nourishing herself and more about helping and supporting the kids ("More tomato sauce please! I want another drink... I don't want this flavour!!")

But when I suggested that she sit down, eat and enjoy dinner with her kids at 5:30pm, everything shifted:

🍽️ She felt calmer and more connected with her kids and body at the table.
🌸 Her kids started mirroring her relaxed approach to food.
🥦 She felt genuinely satisfied, not just grabbing scraps or leftovers.
✨ She stopped the cycle of overeating late at night.
💪 Eating earlier even gave her the energy to exercise in the evening—instead of collapsing on the couch by 8pm.

Sometimes, the biggest changes in family mealtimes happen when mums remember they are worthy of nourishment too.

If you’ve been stuck in “serve mode” or putting off your own meals, let this be your reminder: you are allowed to nourish, rest and be a role model at the table. The benefits ripple far beyond the plate.

I nearly talked myself out of buying the croissant. Not because I didn’t want it.

But because a little voice in my head questioned whether it was “worth it.”

Worth the money.
Worth the calories.
Worth the indulgence.

And I caught myself wondering…

When did caring for myself become something I had to justify? As women, we’re often brilliant at meeting everyone else’s needs before our own. Yet when it’s our turn, we hesitate, negotiate and more often convince ourselves we don’t really need it (or choose it with lashings of guilt and regret.)

Sometimes, choosing the coffee and croissant isn’t about the food at all.

It’s about practising the belief that I deserve care too and TRUSTING yourself that’s what you need in the moment.

And when you practice true body connection, that decision to care for yourself with a food choice, will be the best one for that moment.

Lady - Enjoy the croissant. Allow yourself to receive something without needing to earn it.

Healing your relationship with food isn’t just about what you eat.

It’s also about believing you’re worthy of being nourished. 🤍

MEET TIFFANY 💫 Admin Operations Superstar

She's kept a low profile since starting earlier this year but it's time we put a name to the wam & upbeat voice at the end of the phone.

Tiff is all this and more -

😊 The friendly face behind the scenes – making sure every client feels welcomed, comfortable and cared for.
📅 The queen of calendars – juggling bookings, reminders and reschedules to keep everything running smoothly.
✨ The problem solver – answering questions, finding solutions and making the admin side of things feel easy.

Tiff is a wealth of knowledge, having a background in massage and previously owning her own clinic (yes - you knew she looked familiar!) at Hopetoun Natural Therapies; we are ridiculously blessed to have her in our space and running the place!

In her spare time, Tiff loves running and is about to tackle another half marathon soon as well as digging around up-cycled clothing spots for those stellar one off pieces.

HEALTHY SNACK ALERT ‼️

We’re always looking for easy, nutritious and delicious foods and I’m stocked has made their own mix!

Using chickpeas, peas, and noodles from chickpea flour it’s wholesome but not boring.

And I was stoked to see that it’s low in salt (unlike other snack mixes) and of course, a naturally high fibre option compared to popcorn or chips.

These are Aussie made so we love supporting local too.

Check them out and give them a go - I personally prefer the Texas BBQ but those wanting a sweet/tang flavour - try the Cranberries one!

NB: not ideal for peeps who are FODMAP intolerant.

Double NB: this is NOT a paid promotion.

“I feel lighter….”

Let’s unpack this descriptor because when you’re not focusing on weight or weighing yourself, what does this really mean?

What I hear is:
• more consistent, stable energy
• better sleep
• fewer blood sugar crashes or flooding
• less food noise
• feeling calmer around food
• a nerve system that’s no longer running on stress or empty

And often it’s relief that their diet isn’t taking up more headspace than it needs to.

THIS 👆🏼is all progress. Don’t underestimate what you can achieve when you stop focusing on weight and shape as the goal.

Last week I walked 20km for mental health — to raise awareness, raise funds and for those who struggle on the daily. We’ve all been touched 🤍

And while the day was incredibly uplifting, I’ll admit… I didn’t feel overly confident going into it. I felt underprepared and quietly questioned whether I’d actually be able to do the full 20km.

But I showed up anyway. And you know what? I realised I had completely underestimated myself.

There’s something powerful about stepping into discomfort and coming out the other side, proud and genuinely- amazed.

Here’s a tiny reminder that we are far more capable than we give ourselves credit for, so sometimes you’ve just gotta trust and go for it.

thanks for pushing me to turn up 💙🩵💙🩵
