Do you know what happens around Day 14 of your cycle? 🩸

Day 1 is the first day of your period. In a 28-day cycle, ovulation is often estimated to occur around day 14. This is when an egg is released from an o***y.

But everyone's cycle is different. Not all cycles are 28 days, and ovulation can happen earlier or later, even in regular cycles.

Understanding your usual pattern can help you notice changes. During perimenopause, cycles may become less predictable, and ovulation may not occur every cycle.

Tracking your cycle and symptoms over a few months may help you identify changes and provide useful information to discuss with a health professional.

Save this as a reminder to get to know your cycle.

You know your body better than anyone, and that includes your breasts. 🎀

Today is the International Day Against Breast Cancer, and October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast awareness means knowing how your breasts normally look and feel, so you can notice when something changes. There is no set method. It is about knowing your normal.

If you notice new pain, a lump, discharge or bleeding from the ni**le, dimpling of the skin, or any new change, speak with your healthcare provider.

BreastScreen Australia invites women aged 50 to 74 for a free screening mammogram every two years. Women aged 40 to 49 and 75 and over can also choose to have a free screen. Screening is for women with no new changes. The national number is 13 20 50.

Send this to a woman you love.

One day a year, the world looks at menopause. The other 364 days, women live it. đź’š

Today is World Menopause Day. This year, the International Menopause Society has chosen chronic pain at midlife as its theme. Aching joints, muscle pain and headaches can all be part of the picture.

Menopause & Me offers online telehealth support, Australia wide, with Jenna Bell, Nurse Practitioner with a special interest in menopause and midlife health.

You can have no hot flushes at all and still be in perimenopause. 🔥

World Menopause Day is this Sunday. Before it arrives, here is what often gets missed.

Broken sleep. A shorter fuse. Brain fog that makes you lose your words mid sentence. And a feeling that everything takes more effort than it used to.

These are real, and they are often linked to the hormone changes of perimenopause and menopause. If you are not having hot flushes, it does not mean what you feel is unconnected.

If any of this sounds familiar, book a telehealth appointment through the link in bio.

Some weeks, the strongest thing you can do is ask for help. đź’š

World Mental Health Day was on 10 October. I am a few days late, but better late than never, because this matters too much to skip.

It is okay to reach out, whether that is to a friend, a family member, your GP or a mental health professional. Reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness.

This conversation does not belong to one day of the year.

If you need support, Lifeline is available any time on 13 11 14.

Half the population goes through it, and we still lower our voices to talk about it.

Menopause is not a medical failure. It is not something that happened because you did not look after yourself. It is a normal stage of life that every woman who lives long enough will reach.

What is not normal is being expected to get through it quietly, with no information and no support.

Talk about it at work. Talk about it with your partner. Talk about it with your daughters, so they are not blindsided the way we were.

You deserve to have this conversation out loud.

Book a consult through the link in bio when you are ready to have it with someone who will listen.

3am. Sheets soaked. Heart going. Wide awake for the third night this week.

Then up at seven to be a functioning person about it.

Night sweats are not just an inconvenient warm patch. They fracture your sleep, and broken sleep drives a lot of what comes next. The fog. The short fuse. The feeling that you have lost yourself somewhere.

This is a hormonal shift, not a personal failing. It is also treatable.

Book a consult through the link in bio and let's talk about what is actually going on.

Ticking four or five of these is not a coincidence.

Night sweats. Brain fog. Joint pain. No libido. Mood that swings without warning. Sleep that breaks at 3am and will not come back.

One at a time, they each get explained away. Stress. Work. Age. Being busy.

Together they are a pattern, and patterns are worth investigating properly.

You deserve more than "your bloods are normal."

Book a consult through the link in bio and we will go through the whole list.
