We like to organise a meet and greet before supports begin. It’s a chance to have a chat, get to know each other, ask questions and see if you feel comfortable together. No pressure, no awkward commitments — just a friendly introduction!

💬 Getting to Know YOU!
We take the time to understand your personality, interests, routines, preferences and what you’re looking for in a support worker. Whether you’re a chatterbox, a quiet achiever or someone who loves a good laugh, we want to find someone who complements YOU!

🤝 Keeping the Communication Open!
Once supports begin, we like to check in and make sure everything is going well. And if something isn’t quite right? We want you to feel comfortable telling us!

💙 Your Choice Matters!
If you’re not clicking with your support worker, that’s okay! We’ll work with you to explore other options and find someone who may be a better fit.

🤘💙🩷 MEET US MONDAY – MEET WAYNE! 🩷💙🤘

This week we’re turning up the volume and introducing Wayne, one of our Handymen & Cleaners here at Gotcha Helping Hands! 🧹🔧

Armed with a spray bottle, a few tools and a healthy appreciation for a good cup of coffee, Wayne is always ready to tackle whatever the workday throws his way!

We asked Wayne our three very important Meet Us Monday questions… and let’s just say, he’s a man who knows his priorities! 😂

☕ What does a good day at work look like?

Apparently, it all comes down to whether Kate has remembered to stock the coffee AND the cups! Because what’s the point of having coffee if you’ve got nothing to drink it out of? 😂

🎸 If your workday had a soundtrack, what would it be?

2 Minutes to Midnight – Iron Maiden!

Because between cleaning, fixing things and tackling the next job, the clock is always ticking! There’s no time to waste when you’ve got a to-do list and a bit of heavy metal keeping you moving! 🤘

😴 My ridiculous public holiday?

MONDAY! Every single week. Fully paid, of course!

A whole extra day to stay in bed, recover from the weekend and mentally prepare for Tuesday. We can’t really argue with that logic! 😂

💙 Whether it’s keeping things clean, fixing those little jobs or lending a helping hand, Wayne is a valued part of the Gotcha team.

No—you can start with the basics! 🥕🥣

At Gotcha Helping Hands Activities Centre, our Cooking, Baking & Meal Preparation Program gives participants opportunities to practise kitchen skills with support and encouragement.

You might learn to:

🥕 Prepare ingredients and chop vegetables
📝 Follow a simple recipe or make a shopping list
🧁 Measure, mix and bake something delicious
🍱 Prepare meals and build kitchen routines
🧼 Practise safe food handling

Activities can be tailored to your goals, interests, dietary needs and support requirements. Whether you’re trying something new or building on existing skills, we’ll help you take it step by step. 💙

A new face at Gotcha, bringing years of experience in customer service, administration management and disability support!

Kate joins us as our Office Manager & Support Coordinator. Here’s a little about her journey:

“I started in disability as a high intensity support worker before moving into support coordination, learning under the wings of LACs and specialised planners along the way.

Alongside my professional experience, I bring lived experience as a family member of NDIS participants and as a parent. I understand how personal this journey is, and how much it matters to feel heard, understood and supported.

I purposely keep my caseload small so I can give participants and their families the time, attention and support they need. Getting to know you, understanding your goals and following through are what matter to me.”

Whether she’s helping keep the office running smoothly or supporting participants and families, Kate is happy to have a chat. Say hello next time you’re in! 👋

❓ Can your mobility van take my wheelchair without me having to transfer out of it?

Yes! ♿🚐

Our wheelchair-accessible mobility van allows you to remain comfortably seated in your wheelchair while getting in and out of the vehicle.

The van is fitted with a wheelchair lift and secure wheelchair restraint system, helping make your journey easier, safer and more accessible. 💗💙

Need to get to a medical appointment? Go shopping? Attend an activity? Visit friends or family? Or simply get out and about in the community? Our mobility van could be just what you need! 🚐✨
