I’m having conversations with women every week around skin starting to feel thinner, looser or less firm.

Sometimes these changes can feel sudden and that’s because we are naturally losing our collagen each year and even more rapidly during perimenopause.

Collagen is important for keeping the skin firm, strong and supported. Unfortunately it can’t be “replaced” overnight because it’s a protein your body has to naturally produce itself.

We can stimulate our body to produce its own collagen but it can take months to strengthen and remodel.

This is why there is no quick fix when it comes to collagen stimulation. It takes time, over months.

The key is planning over the long term and being consistent.

A little timeline of most of the jobs I have worked as a cosmetic nurse 🥀 ♥️

After completing a cosmetic training course in Melbourne in 2022, I didn’t realise how challenging aesthetics was going to be!

In the beginning, I decided to work as much as I could to build experience and confidence.

I initally reduced my hours working at the hospital and travelled between locations.

Fast forward ⏩ to now I work part time in the hospital and part time as a cosmetic nurse ♥️

Thank you to Dr Michael Hii and Melbourne Weight Loss Solutions for inviting me to speak at their Shape Your Future Event!

I had the privilege of joining Plastic Surgeon Dean Trotter and Cosmetic Nurse Bel to provide an education session to support their patients after surgical and non-surgical weight loss, including GLP-1 medications.

I was joined by Aisyah Sabnani who bravely shared her own personal journey.

To everyone who came along to support and listen, thank you!

Creating space and a community for these conversations is so important and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of it.

With love,

Nurse Amy x
