October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, a time to remember the babies who are no longer with us and the families who love them.

If someone in your life is grieving, you don’t have to get it perfect.

Reach out, say their baby’s name if they’ve shared it, and keep checking in long after the first few weeks. Grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and your presence matters more than the words.

The number belongs to them.

Our embryologists, who spend their days at the microscope. Our nurses, who answer the early calls. Our admin team, who know every name in the waiting room. More than one hundred babies is more than one hundred families, and behind every one of them is this team, doing quiet, careful work.

One hundred.

More than one hundred babies have now been born to families who came through our doors. We wanted to mark it with something that would keep growing, so there is now a small Queensland Bottle Tree in our reception. Last week Sascha and Linda set it in place, with the whole team around the counter.

A number like this belongs to the families who trusted us, and to the embryologists, nurses and admin team who do the quiet, careful work behind every appointment. Thank you.
