𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘀𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗵𝘂𝗯 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮! 👏

Yesterday marked two years since Mater paediatric surgeon and paediatric urologist Dr Janani Krishnan performed Queensland's first paediatric surgery on the da Vinci surgical assist robot - and since then, the paediatric robotic program has continued to grow.

To mark the milestone, she was joined by patients who have undergone robotic procedures for a very special second birthday party! 🎉

The paediatric robotic program is delivered in an agreement with Townsville Hospital and Health Service, with the da Vinci surgical-assist robot partly funded by community fundraising conducted by Mater Foundation. 🫶

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we're proud to celebrate a new study led by Mater Research in collaboration with QIMR Berghofer hoping to stop triple negative breast cancer in its tracks.

The 'Trojan horse' immunotherapy is hoped to be a treatment option that could one day be accessed by patients just like Vivian.

This project was made possible thanks to a $500,000 National Breast Cancer Foundation Pink Sky Grant.

Advanced technology for more surgical capacity in the heart of Springfield! 🩺

Last month, gynaecologist Dr Ivana Rizzuto performed the very first procedures on Springfield's da Vinci 5 surgical assist robot. The system supports gynaecology, urology and general surgery patients, increasing access to surgeries in Brisbane’s western corridor.

The $4.2 million da Vinci 5 was delivered to Mater Private Hospital Springfield thanks to community fundraising conducted by Mater Foundation. 🫶
