Adenomyosis is common, but it’s rarely talked about. 💛
It’s estimated to affect 20-35% of people with a uterus. Yet so many women are told heavy, painful periods are “just normal”.
I’ll be honest with you: research on diet and adenomyosis specifically is really limited. We often draw on the endometriosis research, which gives us some useful starting points. But it also means you can be wary of anyone promising a diet that “fixes” adenomyosis.
What nutrition can do is offer practical support. That can look like a whole-food, anti-inflammatory way of eating, keeping an eye on iron if your periods are heavy, and looking after your gut. It also means tailoring things to what you’re actually dealing with day to day, whether that’s pain, fatigue or preparing for fertility treatment.
Do you have adeno? Tell me in the comments what you’d most like to know, and I’ll cover it in a future post 👇
