We have some exciting news! 🎁✨

Our Christmas Gift Tree is now up and ready to go at Pacific Cape Lodge, and the tree at Glaica House will be ready very soon! We are all so excited to get this year's Christmas giving drive underway and see our wonderful community come together once again. 🎄🎁

This year, GLAICA Ltd is proud to be teaming up with Home Base again to help bring a little extra Christmas joy to local individuals and families who may be doing it tough.

Last year's generosity was simply amazing, and we are so grateful for the kindness shown by our community. ❤️ We are hoping to spread even more Christmas cheer this year with our special Christmas Gift Tag Trees!

🎁 HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

❤️ Choose a gift tag from one of our Christmas trees and purchase a suitable present for the person described.

🎒 Fill a backpack with toiletries for men or women to help provide practical essentials in an easy-to-carry bag.

🥫 Donate non-perishable food items to help local families put food on the table during the festive season.

🎁 Add an extra gift or a few essentials while you're out shopping. Every donation, big or small, will make a difference!

Once you've chosen your gift, simply return it unwrapped to the collection point so our donations can be sorted and delivered to Home Base.

At GLAICA, our motto is We Care, and we believe that care extends well beyond the walls of our facilities. It's about looking after one another, supporting those who need a helping hand and showing kindness throughout our community.

You never know what a simple gift might mean to someone. It could be the only present they receive this Christmas, a much-needed essential or simply a reminder that someone cares. ❤️

🎄❤️ GLAICA & HOME BASE CHRISTMAS GIFT DRIVE – LET’S SPREAD SOME CHRISTMAS MAGIC! ❤️🎄
Christmas is a time for love, kindness, giving and coming together as a community. But for some people and families, Christmas can also be a time of worry and hardship, when even the simplest gifts and little luxuries are out of reach.
That’s why GLAICA Ltd is teaming up with Home Base once again this year to help bring a little extra joy, hope and Christmas magic to those in our community who need it most. 🎁✨
Last year, we were absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness shown by our wonderful community. The response was incredible, and I honestly cannot thank you all enough. Every gift donated was a reminder that we live in a truly fabulous community, full of people who genuinely care about others and are willing to lend a helping hand when it matters most. ❤️
And this year, we’re making it even easier for everyone to get involved! 🎄
We will have a special Christmas giving tree in the foyer of both GLAICA House and Pacific Cape Lodge, ready for our generous community to help fill with Christmas cheer!
Much like the popular Kmart Wishing Tree appeal, each gift tag will provide basic information about the person you are buying for, whether the gift is for a man, woman, girl or boy, along with their age group.
This will help us make the gift-giving process a little fairer and more thoughtful, so we can provide presents that are suitable for each person's age group and needs, helping everyone receive something meaningful and appropriate for them. 🎁
How can you help? It's easy!
🎁 Choose a gift tag from one of our Christmas trees and purchase a suitable present for the person described and bring it back to the Christmas tree.
🥫 Donate canned food and other non-perishable food items and place them in a backpack to help families put food on the table during the festive season.
Donate toiletries for men and women and place them in a backpack this makes it easier for them to carry arround
🛍️ Want to purchase an extra gift or pick up a few additional items while you're out shopping? You are more than welcome to! Every little bit helps, and every donation, big or small, will be gratefully received.
Our Christmas trees will be in the foyers of both facilities from 2nd November, giving everyone plenty of time to choose a gift, enjoy a little Christmas shopping and be part of something genuinely special.

🧶 Knit, Knatter & Plenty of Laughter at GLAICA! 💕

Our lovely ladies have been having a wonderful time at Knit & Knatter, where there’s always plenty of conversation, laughter and, of course, a little knitting along the way!

Last week, we had an amazing 20 ladies gathered around the table, chatting, sharing stories and solving the troubles of the world, one stitch at a time! 🧵😂

It’s so much more than knitting — it’s about friendship, connection, feeling welcome and being part of a community where everyone belongs.

At GLAICA, we believe that good food is about so much more than simply filling a plate — it’s about nutrition, enjoyment, comfort, connection and making every meal something to look forward to. ❤️

We are incredibly proud of our amazing chefs and kitchen teams who work hard every day to create delicious, nutritious and beautifully presented meals for our wonderful residents across GLAICA.

From hearty homemade meals and fresh vegetables to colourful salads, wholesome sides and delicious desserts, our menus are thoughtfully prepared to provide our residents with meals that are not only enjoyable but also support their health and wellbeing. 🥗🥕🍗🍲

And as you can see from these photos… our chefs certainly know how to make food look as good as it tastes! 😍

There is something very special about sitting down together for a meal. It can bring back memories, spark conversations, create friendships and provide a familiar moment of comfort in the day. For many of our residents, mealtimes are an important part of their daily routine — and we want those moments to be enjoyable.

Our chefs take great pride in preparing meals that are fresh, nutritious, varied and full of flavour, while also catering for individual dietary requirements and preferences wherever possible. They understand that our residents have different tastes, different needs and often lifelong favourites that bring back wonderful memories. ❤️

Behind every meal is a team of people who genuinely care — from planning menus and selecting ingredients, to preparing, cooking, plating and serving each dish.

We know that good nutrition plays an important role in maintaining strength, energy and overall wellbeing, particularly as we age. That’s why our Catering teams work closely with our care teams to ensure our residents are supported with meals that meet their nutritional needs while still being something they genuinely enjoy.

☕️💐 A Special Place Where Everyone Feels Like Family – Frothy Coffee, Smiths Lake 💐☕️

There are some places you visit for the coffee… and then there are those very special places where you go because of the people, the warmth and the feeling of being welcomed like family. ❤️

For our GLAICA residents, Frothy Coffee at Smiths Lake is definitely one of those special places!

Every time we visit, we are greeted with the biggest smiles and the warmest welcome from Casey, the wonderful owner of Frothy Coffee. Casey has a beautiful way of making our residents feel valued, included and genuinely part of her community. 🥰

And then there are the scones! 😍

Casey’s freshly baked scones are simply something else. There is nothing quite like arriving at Frothy Coffee and having those delicious, homemade scones coming fresh out of the oven just as our residents arrive. The smell alone is enough to make everyone smile! 🧁☕️

But what makes our visits so special isn't just the delicious food and coffee — it is the exceptional service and genuine kindness that Casey shows every single time.

Our residents love catching up, having a chat, enjoying a cuppa and watching the world go by, all while feeling completely comfortable and welcome. Casey remembers our residents, takes the time to have a conversation with them and makes everyone feel like they belong.

It is these little moments of connection that make such a difference. ❤️

At GLAICA, we believe that our residents should continue to enjoy the wider community, make connections and experience the simple pleasures that bring happiness and create wonderful memories. Our outings to Frothy Coffee are a perfect example of this.

🎉💐 A Very Special 100th Birthday Celebration for Jill O’Neill! 💐🎉

What an incredibly special day it was on Sunday 27th September as we celebrated a truly remarkable milestone — Jill O’Neill’s 100th Birthday! ❤️🎂

Reaching 100 years of age is an extraordinary achievement, and we were absolutely delighted to celebrate this wonderful occasion with Jill, surrounded by the people who mean so much to her.

Jill was surrounded by her beautiful family and friends, along with members of our GLAICA team who have had the privilege of getting to know and care for her. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with love, laughter, beautiful memories and plenty of smiles. 🥰

Jill is such a special part of our GLAICA family, and it was heartwarming to see so many familiar faces come together to celebrate 100 wonderful years of life, memories, friendships and family.

Our staff have a very special place in their hearts for Jill. She has become so much more than a resident — she is a much-loved member of our community, and we feel incredibly privileged to be able to share these special moments with her.

A 100th birthday is certainly something worth celebrating, and Jill’s day was a beautiful reminder of just how precious life, family, friendship and community are. ❤️

🏡 WELCOME HOME, DAVID! ❤️

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome our newest resident, David Shearer, to Lions Village, proudly part of GLAICA Ltd.

David has been waiting a long time for the opportunity to move into one of our rental villas, and when the day finally arrived, we wanted to make sure he didn’t just move into a villa… we wanted him to feel like he was coming home. ❤️

When we saw what David had, it quickly became clear that he was starting from scratch and didn’t have many of the things we often take for granted. So, naturally, the GLAICA team did what we do best… we went shopping! 😂🛒

And let’s be honest… give us an excuse to go shopping and we’ll take it! 😂

With a little teamwork, a lot of generosity and probably far too much fun along the way, we set about filling David’s new home with some of the essentials.

🛏️ A bed so he could finally get a good night’s sleep.

🍽️ A table and chairs so he could sit down and enjoy a proper meal.

🪑 Two lovely, comfortable chairs for relaxing and watching TV.

📺 A TV and cabinet for those all-important relaxing evenings.

🍳 And, of course, a kitchen stocked with all the things every woman knows you absolutely need in a kitchen! 😂 From the essentials to all those little extras that help turn a house into a home.

We wanted David to walk through the door and know that he was welcome, valued and part of our community from day one. ❤️

At GLAICA Ltd, we take great pride in looking after our residents and being part of the communities in which we live and work. For us, it’s not just about providing a villa, a room or a service — it’s about people, connection, kindness and making a difference wherever we can.

Sometimes making a difference means something big. And sometimes, it’s simply making sure someone has a comfortable bed to sleep in, a chair to sit in, a TV to watch and a kitchen with everything they need to make themselves a cuppa. ☕❤️
