✅ Be ready to seek help if needed - go to ED or call 000 - do not drive yourself

Sign up for Thunderstorm Asthma Alerts at www.nsw.gov.au/mlhd-asthma-alert. Alerts are sent when high pollen counts and thunderstorms are forecast.

⚡About Thunderstorm Asthma events:
A thunderstorm asthma event is where a large number of people suddenly develop asthma symptoms over a short period of time. Moisture in the air causes pollen to break into tiny particles, and wind keeps them swirling close to the ground. It can also affect people who have never had asthma before.

Changes to some NDIS support budgets are now in effect.

The changes will reduce budgets for Social, Economic and Community Participation and Improved Daily Living Skills when:

📅 a new plan is created (from October 2026)

📅 a plan is reassessed (from October 2026 to September 2027)

📅 a plan is renewed (from February 2027 to September 2027).

If your current plan end date is after 30 September 2027, it will be brought forward. We’ll give you at least 60 days’ notice if we do this.

The support budget reductions don’t apply to new framework plans.

Meet Madi! 🌟

Madi came to KeirCare earlier this year as part of our Individualised Living Options here at the house. Since joining us, she has landed a new job, moved into her own home, and has been absolutely smashing goal after goal.

In Madi’s own words:

“I’m currently employed with Charles Sturt University as an all-rounder kitchen hand. I thrive in a fast-paced environment, so this job is perfect for me.

Getting a steady job has always been a goal of mine, so I’m very glad to have checked that off my list. I’ll be getting my P’s sometime this month and have just moved into my own home.

Something I pride myself on is my beloved geese. I’m currently in the process of helping my birds raise their own little baby!

Although I love my geese, my daughter is my lifeline, and I strive to be the best mother I can be.”
