How do we support people at home? Let's use the washing as an example. 🏡
For some people, washing is an annoying but simple job. For others it's much harder to manage. It might be physically difficult, or the hard part is that it keeps coming every single day. It can quickly start to feel overwhelming, and that often leads to avoiding it altogether.
We don't come into homes as cleaners. Our support workers are there to help participants manage their daily tasks in a way that works for them. That means:
🔹 Breaking it down into smaller, achievable steps, so it's sorting today and one load tomorrow
🔹 Fitting it into your routine in a way that suits your lifestyle
🔹 Working side by side, doing it together rather than for you
🔹 Keeping it fun: a chat, some music and a laugh make any job feel lighter
Whether it's washing, cooking, shopping or keeping on top of the house, it's about building routines and confidence that last. đź’›
