You don’t feel like yourself anymore. And you’re wondering if it’s menopause.

You’re exhausted. Your sleep has changed. The brain fog is affecting your work. Your mood isn’t what it used to be. Your body feels different.

You’ve been told your blood work is normal. Maybe it’s stress. Maybe it’s anxiety. Maybe it’s just getting older.

But you still don’t feel like yourself.

I’ve sat in both chairs. As a menopause specialist and as a patient.

And I know how important it is to have someone take the time to listen, understand your symptoms, and help you make informed decisions about your health.

At Bardöt, we offer private menopause consultations designed around YOU.

Our comprehensive one-hour consultations include:

• A detailed review of your symptoms, medical history, and health concerns.

• Blood work when clinically indicated to investigate other possible causes of your symptoms.

• An individualized assessment of whether hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is appropriate for you.

• A discussion of the benefits, risks, and alternatives to HRT.

• Prescriptions when appropriate and a personalized symptom management plan.

• Ongoing support as your symptoms and treatment needs change.

HRT isn’t right for everyone. But every woman deserves to understand whether it’s right for her.

Menopause care should be about more than treating hot flashes. It’s about your sleep, energy, mood, cognitive health, sexual health, and quality of life.

And it shouldn’t feel rushed.

You deserve more than a 10-minute conversation about your health.

Private. Personalized. Evidence-based menopause care.

Follow me while I get Morpheus8 (RF Microneedling)!

Today I’m taking you behind the scenes of one of my favourite treatments for facial contouring, skin tightening and collagen stimulation.

Why am I doing Morpheus8?

As I age, I’m noticing changes that skincare alone can’t correct. Loss of facial definition, early jowling, skin laxity and changes in the lower face are all part of the aging process.

Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to deliver controlled heat into the deeper layers of tissue.

My goals?
✔️ Stimulate collagen remodeling
✔️ Improve skin firmness and elasticity
✔️ Address early jowling and lower-face laxity
✔️ Improve facial contours and jawline definition
✔️ Maintain my results as I age, rather than chase them later

What does 24 hours after Morpheus8 actually look like?

This is the part I want patients to see!

At 24 hours, it’s completely normal to experience:

✔️ Redness and warmth
✔️ Mild to moderate swelling
✔️ Tiny pinpoint marks from the needles
✔️ Skin that feels tight, dry or slightly rough
✔️ Tenderness in treated areas

These are expected post-treatment responses, not necessarily complications.

And here’s what matters most:

At 24 hours, we’re not looking for results. We’re looking at how the skin is responding to treatment.

Collagen remodeling takes time. The changes I’m hoping to achieve will develop gradually over the following weeks and months.

I don’t expect to look younger tomorrow. I’m investing in how my skin will look and function in the years ahead.

Because great aesthetic medicine isn’t about changing your face. It’s about understanding how it ages and choosing the right treatment at the right time.

Follow along as I show you the treatment, the recovery and the results.

HOW DO I TREAT NECK LAXITY?

The neck is challenging to treat because the skin is thin, constantly moving, and loses collagen with age.

My approach: build collagen, improve skin quality, and respect the underlying anatomy.

My go-to combination:

Sculptra
Stimulates gradual collagen production and may improve crepey skin and mild laxity over time.
Neck treatment is off-label and requires careful patient selection.

Microneedling
Helps improve fine lines, texture, and overall skin quality without relying on deep heat.

Medical-grade skincare
Retinoids, vitamin C, moisturizer, and daily SPF help support and protect your results.

I don’t automatically recommend heat-based tightening devices for every neck. The right treatment depends on your skin, anatomy, and degree of laxity.

The goal isn’t just tighter skin—it’s healthier, stronger, more youthful-looking skin.

Diagnosis before device. Always.

Why RF Microneedling Is One of My Favourite Treatments for Facial Contouring.

Because sometimes the problem isn’t just loose skin. It’s what’s happening underneath it.

As we age, we lose collagen, skin elasticity, and facial definition. We start noticing deeper nasolabial folds, marionette lines, jowls, and a jawline that isn’t quite as defined as it once was.

This is where RF microneedling really shines.

Unlike traditional microneedling, radiofrequency (RF) microneedling delivers controlled thermal energy beneath the skin’s surface.

And what I love about it is that we can customize the depth and energy to target different tissue layers.

Here’s why it’s one of my favourites:

1. Collagen remodeling: Controlled heat stimulates a wound-healing response, encouraging collagen production and improving skin firmness over time.
2. Facial contouring: At appropriate depths and settings, RF energy can affect deeper tissue, including subcutaneous fat. In carefully selected patients, this can help refine areas of unwanted fullness.
3. Skin tightening: By targeting the dermis, we can improve mild skin laxity while preserving facial volume where it’s needed.
4. More than one concern: RF microneedling can address texture, fine lines, acne scars, and mild laxity in the same treatment plan.

But here’s what matters most.

Not every face needs fat reduction.

In fact, removing fat from the wrong area can make someone look older, not younger.

That’s why I don’t believe in using the same depth, energy, or treatment approach on every patient.

The goal isn’t simply tighter skin. It’s better facial architecture.

And knowing where to tighten, where to contour, and where to preserve volume is what makes the difference between treating a face and understanding one.

Diagnosis before device. Always.

My age doesn’t bother me. It’s the side effects that come with it.

I don’t want to look 25 again. I don’t want to change my face. And I certainly don’t want to look like I’ve had a lot of work done.

But I also don’t love everything that comes with aging.

The loss of collagen.
The changes in skin texture.
The fine lines and wrinkles.
The pigmentation that seems to appear overnight.
The loss of facial volume and definition.
The skin that doesn’t bounce back quite like it used to.

I’m not trying to stop aging. I’m trying to manage the changes that come with it.

And there’s a difference.

As a healthcare provider, I understand the biology behind these changes. As a woman experiencing them, I understand why they matter.

We have incredible evidence-based treatments that can improve skin quality, stimulate collagen, restore volume and address some of the visible effects of aging.

But the goal should never be to erase every sign of getting older.

The goal is to look like yourself, feel confident in your skin, and age on your own terms.

Because getting older isn’t the problem.

It’s the side effects I’d like a little help with. 💙

Skin first. Undetectable is the standard.

ACCUTITE + FACETITE | FAT REDUCTION MEETS SKIN TIGHTENING

What if we could treat stubborn fat AND tighten the overlying skin in one procedure?

That’s exactly what AccuTite and FaceTite are designed to do.

These Health Canada–licensed technologies use radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL) to target subcutaneous fat while delivering controlled heat to the surrounding tissue.

Two benefits. One treatment.

✨ FAT REDUCTION — Targets stubborn pockets of fat beneath the skin, including under the chin and along the jawline.

✨ SKIN TIGHTENING — Radiofrequency energy stimulates tissue contraction and collagen remodelling, improving skin firmness and definition.

✨ FACIAL CONTOURING — Helps redefine the jawline, reduce submental fullness and improve lower-face contours.

✨ MINIMALLY INVASIVE — Performed through small entry points without the incisions associated with traditional surgical lifting procedures.

The difference?

Removing fat alone doesn’t necessarily address loose skin. AccuTite and FaceTite are designed to address BOTH.

At Bardöt, we assess your anatomy, fat distribution and skin laxity before recommending treatment.

Because the goal isn’t simply less fat.

It’s better contours, tighter skin and natural-looking results.

Which skin-tightening device actually works?

There are three major categories of energy-based devices used for skin tightening: Ultrasound, Radiofrequency (RF), and Laser (CO₂ and Erbium).

But here’s what matters: They don’t all treat the same problem, and they don’t all produce the same results.

1. ULTRASOUND ENERGY
Devices like Sofwave and Ultherapy use focused ultrasound energy to stimulate collagen production. The clinical trials are encouraging, but many are relatively small, with limited long-term comparative data.

For me, the biggest limitation isn’t whether ultrasound works. It’s that the evidence doesn’t yet clearly tell me which patient will benefit most, or how to reliably predict their results.

2. RADIOFREQUENCY (RF) ENERGY

This is where things get interesting. RF devices can deliver energy into deeper tissue layers. Certain technologies, particularly RF-assisted lipolysis such as FaceTite and AccuTite, can address both subcutaneous fat and skin laxity.

I consider these treatments when patients begin noticing:
* Jowling and loss of jawline definition
* Submental fullness
* Lower-face heaviness
* Changes around the marionette lines and nasolabial folds

Why? Because sometimes what looks like a wrinkle is actually a change in facial contour, fat distribution, or tissue support.

Not every RF device reaches the same depth or produces the same effect.

3. LASER ENERGY — CO₂ & ERBIUM

Ablative resurfacing lasers have an added advantage. They don’t just stimulate collagen remodeling. They also address the skin’s surface.

That means we can improve:
* Fine lines and wrinkles
* Skin texture and roughness
* Sun damage and uneven pigmentation
* Overall skin quality
For patients whose primary concerns are crepey skin, fine lines, and visible skin aging, resurfacing lasers can offer benefits that deeper tightening devices alone may not deliver.

FACETITE + ACCUTITE ✨
Less fullness. Tighter skin. Better definition.

What if we could address stubborn fat beneath the chin AND loose skin in the same treatment?

That’s exactly what radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL) is designed to do.

THE SCIENCE 🔬

A published study of 247 patients undergoing combined radiofrequency treatments for lower-face and neck rejuvenation reported:

✨ 93% patient satisfaction

✨ 1.4-point average improvement in the Baker facial aging classification

✨ Visible improvements in lower-face and neck laxity

HOW DOES IT WORK?

FaceTite and AccuTite use controlled radiofrequency energy beneath the skin to:

✔️ Target subcutaneous fat
✔️ Contract deeper tissues
✔️ Stimulate collagen remodelling
✔️ Improve jawline and neck contours

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

Removing fat alone doesn’t necessarily address skin laxity.

FaceTite and AccuTite are designed to address both fat and loose skin, making them options for appropriately selected patients with submental fullness, early jowling and lower-face laxity.

THE BARDÖT DIFFERENCE

We don’t treat every jawline the same.

Is it fat? Skin laxity? Volume loss? Bone structure?

The diagnosis determines the treatment.

Because a sharper jawline starts with understanding WHY definition was lost.

BOTOX vs DYSPORT vs XEOMIN vs NUCEIVA: WHICH LASTS LONGER?

One of the most common questions we hear:

“Does Dysport, Xeomin or Nuceiva last longer than Botox?”

The short answer? Not necessarily.

For cosmetic treatment, Botox, Dysport, Xeomin and Nuceiva typically provide approximately 3–4 months of improvement—although results vary from person to person.

Duration depends on several factors, including:

• Treatment area
• Dose
• Muscle strength
• Metabolism
• Injection technique
• Individual response

What does the research tell us?

✔️ Dysport may have a slightly faster onset in some patients.

✔️ Xeomin is a purified formulation, but it has not consistently been shown to last longer than Botox.

✔️ Nuceiva has demonstrated comparable efficacy and duration to Botox for glabellar lines.

✔️ No product has consistently demonstrated superior longevity across all treatment areas and patients.

Here’s what matters most.

Botox, Dysport, Xeomin and Nuceiva units are not interchangeable.

Comparing duration without considering product-specific dosing can be misleading. In some cases, dose may influence longevity more than simply switching brands—although higher doses can also increase the risk of unwanted weakness or diffusion.

THE TAKEAWAY?

The best neuromodulator isn’t necessarily the one with the best marketing.

It’s the one selected and dosed appropriately for your anatomy, muscle activity and treatment goals—and administered by a qualified medical professional using an authorized product.

At Bardöt, we follow the evidence. Not the hype.

Undetectable is the standard.

Planning your wardrobe around sweat marks?

Excessive sweating—called hyperhidrosis—can affect your confidence, clothing choices and everyday comfort, even when you’re cool and relaxed.

Tox can help by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that activate sweat glands in the treated area. For suitable patients with excessive underarm sweating, it can significantly reduce sweating and provide relief for several months.

And the medication may be covered by your private drug benefits.

Coverage depends on your diagnosis and individual plan. A prescription and prior authorization may be required, and consultation or injection fees may be separate from medication coverage.

It starts with a medical consultation to understand what’s causing the sweating, review your treatment options and determine whether tox is appropriate for you.

You don’t have to keep planning your day around excessive sweating. Let’s talk.
