🔎 Why can't everyone join every clinical trial?
It's a great question—and the answer matters.
Every clinical trial is designed to answer a specific research question. That's why studies have eligibility criteria: requirements that help researchers determine who may be suitable to participate.
These criteria can include:
🔹 Age: A study may focus on a particular age group.
🔹 Health history: Certain medical conditions may affect eligibility.
🔹 Medications: Current or previous medications may be relevant.
🔹 Study requirements: Each trial has its own goals and procedures.
These requirements aren't a judgment about a person. They help researchers assess suitability, consider safety and understand the results within the group being studied.
💡Here's something important to remember: Not qualifying for one study doesn't automatically mean you won't qualify for another. Every study has different criteria.
