What if self-compassion isn’t about loving only the parts of ourselves we like? 🤍
What about the parts that feel messy? The moments we react in ways we wish we hadn’t. The feelings we’d rather not have. The parts of ourselves we’re still learning to understand.
So often, we meet these parts with judgment, believing that if we’re hard enough on ourselves, somehow we’ll become better.
But what if there was another way?
In this beautiful conversation, Kyla reminds us that every part of our experience belongs to our humanness.
Even the parts we struggle with have a story. Often, they developed during moments when we were simply trying to find safety, connection, or support.
And perhaps those parts don’t need to be pushed away.
“They’re not parts to be rid of. They’re just parts that need love.”
Self-compassion doesn’t mean we stop growing, or that we abandon our boundaries.
It means we can hold ourselves with love while still choosing how we want to show up in the world.
We can be gentle with ourselves.
We can be fierce in our care.
We can honour our humanity without demanding perfection.
And we can keep becoming, without rejecting who we are along the way.
🤍 What might change if you began meeting yourself with a little more compassion today?
