❤️🎄 An Important Announcement Regarding Silver Santa for Seniors — A PAUSE, Not a Goodbye 🎄❤️
After much thought and with a heavy heart, many tears, and emotions that are difficult to put into words I have made the heartbreaking decision to put Silver Santa for Seniors on hold for this Christmas season. ❤️
A beloved member of our family is facing a terminal illness, and with all the uncertainty, heartache, and unpredictability that comes with it, we simply don't know what the days, weeks, or months ahead may bring. Our time with her is more precious then ever and we want to make every moment count.
Anyone who knows me knows just how much of my heart and soul goes into Silver Santa each year and the labor of love for each bag.
But behind those bags are countless hours of work, planning, dedication, and responsibility. It is an enormous undertaking, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
And this year, as much as it breaks my heart to admit it, I simply don't have the strength or capacity to give Silver Santa the time, energy, and attention it deserves.
There is a saying that has never felt more true than it does right now:
"YOU CANT POUR FROM AN EMPTY CUP."
And right now, our family's cups are running on empty.
❤️ THE HEART BEHIND SILVER SANTA
And while those beautiful Silver Santa bags have always been filled with gifts, I have always hoped they would deliver something far more meaningful.
That they matter, valued, appreciated, loved and perhaps most importantly, that they have not been forgotten. ❤️
Because Silver Santa has never been just about filling gift bags.
It has always been about filling hearts.
🎄❤️ MY CHRISTMAS WISH THIS YEAR — PLEASE DON'T FORGET OUR SENIORS! ❤️🎄
So, to everyone who has supported Silver Santa over the years, and to anyone who was hoping to contribute this Christmas, I have one very special request.
❤️ Instead of donating to Silver Santa this Christmas, please consider directing your kindness and generosity to the SSVP Carbonear Food Bank (Society of St. Vincent de Paul). ❤️
This wonderful organization does such important work helping individuals and families throughout our communities, including seniors who are struggling to make ends meet.
There are several meaningful ways you can help:
❤️ Monetary donations
❤️ Non-perishable food donations
❤️ Gift certificates
❤️ Direct contributions to the SSVP Carbonear Food Bank.
❤️ Need a little help making a donation? Please don't hesitate to reach out to me. If dropping something off is difficult, I will gladly help arrange for your contribution to reach the food bank. I am also happy to help guide anyone wishing to make a monetary donation.
❤️ A PERSONAL THANK YOU, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART ❤️
To every single person who has supported Silver Santa for Seniors over the years, thank you.
I sincerely hope you understand just how heartbreaking this decision has been.
And sometimes, as difficult as it may be, we have to give ourselves permission to put something we love on hold so we can be present for the people we love. ❤️
I am deeply grateful for your understanding, your compassion, and your continued kindness during this difficult time for our family.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me fill not just gift bags, but hearts, year after year. ❤️🎅🎄
With love, gratitude, and a heart full of thanks. ❤️
SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!
