Prevent hernia and back pain with this one habit 💜
Your breathing and the way you brace your belly can make a big difference during everyday movements. 🫁
When you take a deep breath, your belly should gently expand instead of pulling inward. This allows your diaphragm to work properly and helps you create better support through your core.
Now think about what happens when you cough, laugh, sneeze, bend, pull, or push. If your belly pushes outward and you lose control of your core, you may be putting unnecessary pressure on your abdominal wall and back.
Instead, try this simple technique:
🫁 Breathe in and let your belly expand.
💨 Breathe out and gently squeeze your tummy.
💪 Keep your belly braced as you move.
⬆️ When getting up from bed, breathe out, brace your tummy, and slowly come up without letting your belly pop out.
The same principle can be used during many daily activities — bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, coughing, laughing, and sneezing.
