One of my daughters got me this blanket:
“Do Not Disturb. Mom Is Charging.” 💜

And it brought back such a memory.

When my children were little, I was doing my residency training. I had three of them then, and trying to study with little children around was… interesting. 😄

One day, I sat them down and explained:

“You’re all in school and you want to do well. Mummy is in school too, and I need time to read so I can do well too.”

And somehow, they got it.

After that, whenever the youngest tried to come to me while I was studying, the middle one would remind her to let Mummy read so she could do well in school too. 😂❤️

That little memory reminded me of something we sometimes forget as women:

Recharging doesn’t always mean sleeping.

Sometimes it is resting.
Sometimes it is quiet.
Sometimes it is protecting an hour to think, study, pray or simply be still.

And sometimes the people around us can support us better when we actually tell them what we need.

So whatever “charging” looks like for you in this season, make room for it.

Even Mummy needs to recharge. 💜

Sometimes the hardest part of slowing down is the story we’ve attached to it.

Many of us learned to equate constant busyness with doing well.

So when we pause, guilt shows up.

Midlife has a way of making us question those old rules.

Not everything you were taught about productivity needs to follow you into this season.

You do not have to earn your right to exhale.

The biggest mistake I made was waiting to feel motivated.

Motivation comes and goes.
Discipline is what helps you keep going when motivation disappears.

But discipline needs something deeper.

You need a WHY.

My WHY was my health.

And I’m not perfect. I still miss days. Sometimes I feel bad when I don’t meet the goal I set for myself.

But then I remember my WHY.

I remind myself that one missed day doesn’t erase all the days I showed up.

So I don’t stay stuck in guilt. I start again.

Please don’t be too hard on yourself on the days you don’t achieve your goals. Consistency isn’t perfection. It’s coming back. ❤️

Start small. Choose something you can sustain. And keep returning to your WHY.

That’s part of the heart behind the Kindred Wellness Summit, a space for women in midlife to learn from experts and turn what we know into changes we can actually sustain.

And the support doesn’t have to end with the Summit. You’ll have the opportunity to join our community afterwards, where we can keep working towards our wellness goals together, supported by experts and by one another. 🌱

Know your WHY. Give yourself grace. Keep coming back.

The hot flashes get the attention. But sometimes, it’s everything else that disrupts a woman’s day.

She wakes at 3 a.m. and struggles to fall back asleep. By morning, she’s exhausted.

At work, she loses her train of thought halfway through a sentence. Her joints ache. Her patience feels shorter. She wonders why she doesn’t quite feel like herself.

Would she connect these changes to perimenopause?

In a Canadian survey, women reported sleep disturbances (57%), fatigue (50%), memory issues (37%) and anxiety (32%), alongside other symptoms.

Behind each percentage is a woman managing work, family and everyday life while trying to understand what is changing.

These symptoms can have other causes too. New, persistent, or disruptive symptoms deserve a proper assessment, not being brushed aside as “just getting older.”

That's why I’m hosting The Kindred Wellness Summit: to create space for conversations about midlife health that go beyond hot flashes.

Join us for expert discussions, practical strategies and live Q&A on perimenopause, menopause and your wider wellbeing. Bring your questions. 💛

Every “yes” has a cost. Sometimes, it’s your rest.

You agree to one more task. Squeeze in one more favour. Tell yourself you’ll rest when things settle down.

Then bedtime gets pushed back, the walk gets cancelled, and something you enjoy becomes another thing you “don’t have time for.”

It can happen so gradually that an overloaded day starts to feel like a normal life.

And while saying yes can feel productive, constantly adding more to your plate can eventually reduce your focus, energy, and effectiveness. Productivity isn’t about filling every minute, it’s about using your time and energy intentionally.

Using your time wisely includes leaving room to recover. Before your next yes, pause and ask: “What will I have to give up to make room for this?”

Your time deserves a plan that includes you. 💛

“That’s just part of being a woman.”

Perhaps you heard it when your periods kept you in bed. When you leaked a little every time you laughed. Or when you were exhausted but still expected to carry everyone else.

So you learnt to manage. Stay quiet. Keep going.

Many women were taught that painful periods, heavy bleeding, painful s*x and urinary leakage were simply things to tolerate.

Not every symptom means disease. But suffering should never be a badge of womanhood.

Something can be common and still deserve attention.

Swipe through. What is one thing women were taught to tolerate that you think deserves another look? 💬
