Ever wished your body came with a built-in reset button? ✨
Sometimes, when life gets too loud, everything gets tangled up inside. Your chest feels tight, your stomach knots up, and your mind just won't shut down.
When that happens, take a second and look at your wrist.
This is PC6, or Neiguan—which beautifully translates to the "Inner Gate" in TCM. Think of it less as a clinical pressure point, and more as a gentle security checkpoint for your nervous system.
It’s the gateway meant to restore peace when things get chaotic inside.
If you’ve ever worn a motion-sickness band, you already know its power. But its magic goes way deeper than just settling a rocky stomach:
• It softens the weight in your chest. When anxiety hits and your heart starts racing, a firm press here acts like a deep, grounding exhale.
• It untangles the emotional traffic jam. In TCM, severe stress and frustration literally freeze your energy (Liver Qi Stagnation). PC6 unlocks that bottleneck, letting you breathe fully again.
• It settles the rebellion. When stress makes your digestion fight back (Rebellious Qi) causing nausea or reflux, this point coaxes that energy back down where it belongs.
• It quiets a restless spirit. When a racing mind keeps you tossing and turning, it gently calms the heart so your mind (Shen) can finally rest.
How to find your inner gate tonight:
Turn your palm up. Measure 2 cun (about three finger-widths) up from the wrist crease. The point sits nestled perfectly between the two prominent tendons in the center of your forearm (the palmaris longus and flexor carpi radialis).
Press down firmly. Close your eyes. Take three slow, deep belly breaths.
Let the tension go.
Save this for the days you feel overwhelmed, and pass it along to someone who needs a little stillness today. ✨
