Even though we all know that no one is perfect, we often are very hard on ourselves, beating ourselves up over mistakes and revisiting those bad memories over and over.

Letting go of past mistakes is an excellent way to exercise self-acceptance, love and care.

If you have past mistakes that you have made ~ big or small ~ stop holding onto them in your heart.

Let them go 💗

MAJOR NUTRITION TIP➡️➡️

If your day of eating looks like the first infographic:

❌Restricting your foods until noon
❌Eating small snacks until dinner
❌Eating at sporadic times throughout the day

This eating plan will have little to no benefits in terms of digestion, weight loss, muscle gains or even your energy levels.

If you follow the 2nd infographic:

✅Eat earlier in the day
✅Eat balanced meals that include protein
✅Plan your meals no more than 3-4 hours apart

This type of eating plan will help keep your energy levels balanced, will help you hit protein goals, decrease cravings which in turn leads to less unnecessary calories consumed and will also help you lose weight.

🧐Do you have a habit that you tend to do ~ way too often ~ that is not contributing to your healthy lifestyle or could possibly be holding you back from reaching your goals?

🥸Here are my suggestions to help rid of the “not so healthy” habit and in with the NEW healthy habit!

STEP 1️⃣:
IDENTIFY ~ the habit you would like to change. (ex. after dinner chocolate)

STEP 2️⃣:
BE POSITIVE ABOUT THE CHANGE ~ for example, “I CAN do this! I WILL eliminate chocolate each night after my dinner.”

STEP 3️⃣:
IDENTIFY THE TRIGGER - a cue will trigger your brain to go into automatic mode and tell it what habit to use. This can be anything from the time of day, an emotion, even people you are spending time with, that can trigger your “not so healthy” habit.

STEP 4️⃣:
IDENTIFY THE REWARD ~ What do you get from consuming the chocolate (your behaviour/reward) ?? How does it make you feel when you eat or drink it?

STEP 5️⃣:
CHANGE THE HABIT ~ instead of eating the chocolate after dinner, find another habit that you can go and do to delay the gratification. Something else that may provide you with a similar feeling ~ go for a walk, drink a glass of water, have a cup of warm tea, call a friend, go and water your plants.

STEP 6️⃣:
REPEAT THE NEW HABIT DAILY ~ make sure the habit you choose will give you a similar feeling. Keep repeating it everyday until it becomes your NEW HEALTHY HABIT.

📱 I am sure this is the LAST thing you want to hear today, BUT …….😉

Screen time can steal from your self-care time, sucking you into feeds that you scroll through more out of compulsion than desire, leaving you feeling drained and unhappy.

I use my phone a lot and for soooo many things!
I really do try to use social media strategically and less for scrolling ……

~

To find balance for myself and my family here are a few things I do to give myself the break I need from my phone:

🚫I do not have any notifications set up on my phone ~ only emails.
🚫Never do I bring my phone to my bedroom. It stays downstairs on the kitchen counter.
🚫My phone is on silent every night after 6pm and always on Sundays.
🚫No phones at the dinner table.
🚫No phones whenever I am with company.
🚫Thursday afternoons ~ I take the afternoon off from my phone completely.

The above allows me to find balance and respect for myself and others around me, family and friends.

I check my phone when I want to ~ not when it buzzes at me.

Self-Care means something different to everyone. 💁🏻‍♀️
For me ~ it literally depends on the day ~ or situation.

One of my favourite self-care activities is applying a weekly face mask. This is an awesome home spa activity, that does wonders for my skin while giving me the opportunity to sit and be still.

Being someone that suffers from contact allergies (I am literally allergic to everything😳)
I have to be very careful of the products I put on my skin.

Finding others that I can trust with my health is very important to me and so are the products I put on my skin!

My favourite organic skincare line for my at-home skin care routine is Eminence ~ which can be purchased locally in Campbellville from my friend Aspasia at her quaint studio @aspasia.s.studio

Why not treat yourself! 🐛🦋

Buy yourself a mask for your at-home self-care activity or even book yourself a facial with someone you trust.

Having someone else do your facial will give you a good reason not to do anything, but relax, breathe and be still within your own thoughts💗
