Aanii, Boozhoo, Wachiye, Kwe Kwe, Sago, Tansi, Hello,

Now that we have had some time to debrief and reflect on this summers programming, we have a couple acknowledgements we would like to make in regard to our Indigenous Youth Summer Hockey Camp.

First, we want to take some time to give a well-deserved shout out to Nipissing Lakers Head Coach Mike McParland for all the work he has done in partnership with us over the past three years! In volunteering his time every summer, coach Mike has been a foundational component of our Indigenous Youth Summer Hockey Camp hosted in partnership with Source for Sports, and with Dokis First Nation joining us this past year! We have got nothing but positive feedback and encouraging words regarding this hockey camp, the instruction that the youth receive while on the ice, and they fun the youth have while participating!

Second, we want to extend that gratitude and thank you to our partners Source for Sports, with a special thank you going out to Paul McLean and Laura Mady, as well as Dokis First Nation, with a special thank you going out to Gary Newton! Thank you all!

Lastly, we wanted to extend a huge thank you to the young hockey players that came out on the ice with coach Mike and helped run the drills, shared their knowledge and passion, and made sure the kids were having fun and staying engaged! So, to Kaedyn Long and Kyle Foreman, thank you!

Gchi miigwech to all!
