5 more sleeps…🧘‍♀️ until our return of the Deeper Wisdom gatherings! Are you curious about what Yoga REALLY IS?

Yoga isn't just something we do on our mats. It's something we learn to LIVE.

I’m really so excited to be offering this self care, self study workshop/retreat this upcoming Sunday, “The Journey Inward”.

You know, we spend so much of our lives looking outward, at everything we need to do, everything we need to be, and everything happening around us.

But how often do we actually take the time to look within?

This Sunday, we’re going to explore the deeper teachings of yoga-beyond the physical postures; through yoga philosophy, self-reflection, conversation, and practices that help us better understand ourselves.

And what better time than autumn to slow down, reflect, release, and reconnect?

You don’t need any previous knowledge of yoga or its philosophy. Just come with an open mind and a little curiosity.

We will discuss, learn and practice many of yoga’s 8 limbs, and find the wisdom on how to take this new found knowledge with us into our day to day lives.

Yoga is SO much more
than physical postures. Come join us and find out how you can integrate the path of yoga into your everyday life.

We will come together in sacred circle and the topics we'll be exploring are:

1. The Eight-Limbed Path of Yoga Understanding yoga beyond the physical postures and exploring its guidance for conscious living.

2. The Yamas & Niyamas
Yoga's ethical practices, including compassion, truthfulness, non-attachment, self-discipline, and self-study.

3. The Five Koshas
Exploring the five layers of our being: physical, energetic, mental, wisdom, and bliss.

4. The Five Kleshas
Understanding the roots of human suffering, including Avidya (misperception), attachment, ego, and fear.

5. Samskaras
Recognizing the patterns, habits, and impressions that shape our thoughts, behaviours, and reactions.

6. The Three Gunas
Exploring Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas, the three qualities of nature that influence our energy, emotions, and state of mind.

And woven throughout the day...
Mindful movement and yoga
Breathwork and meditation
Self-reflection and journaling
Meaningful conversation and connection
Applying ancient wisdom to modern life 🌱

Together, we'll look at how these ancient teachings help us better understand our thoughts, patterns, emotions, relationships, and the way we move through life.

Sunday, October 18th,
9:30–4:30pm
at The Loft.

I cant to share with you ALL the reasons why Yoga literally transformed and changed my life so many years ago for the better, and how I learned to come back home to my soul-this journey is how I found my purpose & my Dharma. Maybe here, you will find yours too…

🍂 HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO MY BEAUTIFUL YOGA COMMUNITY! 🍂

My heart is full. And YOU are a big part of why. ❤️

As I look through photos, I see so much more than people practicing yoga.

I see a community.
I see friendships.
I see courage, laughter, vulnerability and connection.
I see people showing up for themselves, and in doing so, showing up for one another.

I see a room full of individuals, each walking their own path, yet coming together to breathe, move, grow and simply BE.

And I am reminded of just how grateful I am to be part of it all.

For every mat rolled out.
Every deep breath shared.
Every conversation before or after class.
Every laugh, every tear, every breakthrough.
Every message afterwards of how the practice did something wonderful and transformational for you.
Every person who has walked through those doors and trusted me to be your guide and the teacher that is part of your journey inward.

Thank you. 🙏

You may come to yoga for flexibility, strength, balance or peace of mind. But somewhere along the way, something beautiful happens.

We find connection.
We find belonging.
We find a little more of ourselves.
We find more than we ever imagined.

And perhaps that’s the greatest gift of this practice.

After all these years of teaching, I can tell you that the greatest part of what I do has never been the postures or teaching the perfect class plan.

It’s the people. It’s YOU.

This Thanksgiving, I hope you take a moment to recognize all that you are, all that you’ve overcome, and all the beautiful things that already exist within your life.

May you find gratitude not only for what you have, but for who you are becoming.

Thank you for allowing me to do what I love, and for making this community something so incredibly special. Thankyou for trusting me to lead you inwardly, to the pockets of peace & stillness. Thank you for showing up, even when life is hard. Thank you for allowing me to challenge you-in ways that allow you to grow stronger both on and off the mat. Thank you for INSPIRING me each and everyday to not only to be the person and space that is your safe place to land, but to also continue my own personal growth and healing.

Teaching you, supports ME. Like a boomerang…what you give out, comes right back. 🫶

Thankful.
Grateful.
Blessed.
Beyond Measure. 🙏

Namaste my beloved yoga community and love to all today, tomorrow and everyday after.

With Grace,
Lisa Arnold

Yesterday during my walk I sat here for a little while and was reminded…

The Elements teach us everything. And Yoga is EVERYWHERE. It’s in the moments that you pause, become aware and feel perfectly present.

Water: When the surface is calm we can see more clearly, reflecting what is above. When it is restless, the reflection becomes distorted.

This distortion in Yoga is called Avidya.

Our minds are much the same as a body of water. When its calm..you see EVERYTHING CLEARLY. Just like in this picture I took.

“As above, so below”

Imagine looking into water when the surface is disturbed. The trees haven’t changed—but their reflection becomes distorted.

We might believe the distorted image is reality.

Avidya is the distortion.

Yoga doesn’t necessarily need to change what is reflected. The practice helps settle the water so that we can see what was already there more clearly.

We often identify ourselves with things that are constantly changing:

“I am my body.”
“I am my thoughts.”
“I am my accomplishments.”
“I am what happened to me.”
“I am what other people think of me.”
“I am successful only when…”

Yoga asks us to investigate those statements rather than automatically believe them.

Patanjali describes Avidya as mistaking the impermanent for permanent, the impure for pure, suffering for happiness, and the non-Self for the Self. (Yoga Sutra 2.5.)

That last piece is particularly important.

Yoga philosophy says there is something deeper than all of our changing thoughts, emotions, roles and experiences-the seer or witnessing awareness (Purusha/Drashta).

So rather than:

“I am anxious.”

the practice gradually creates enough space to recognize:

“Anxiety is present-and I am aware of it.”

Rather than:

“I am a failure.”

we might recognize:

“I am having the thought that I failed.”

That’s a very different relationship with our experience.

Yoga was never meant to be only about the shapes we make with our bodies. Most believe it is, then eventually with enough practice realize differently.
Its a guide to a way of LIVING mindfully.

With complete AWARENESS.

Itis a practice of turning inward. Of becoming quiet enough to notice what is beneath the noise, the habits, the reactions, the stories and the constant movement of everyday life.

The ancient teachings of yoga invite us to be inquisitive each day, all the time and ask:

What is moving within me?
What am I holding onto?
What patterns keep repeating?
What is asking to be released?
And who am I beneath all of it?

This is Svadhyaya-self-study.
This is Pratyahara-turning the senses inward.
This is the work of noticing our Samskaras-the patterns and impressions we carry.
And it is learning to recognize the Gunas-the changing energies that influence how we think, feel and move through our lives.

Nature understands this rhythm.

Autumn doesn’t fight to hold onto what has finished.
It releases.
It quiets.
It prepares to turn inward.

Perhaps we can, too.

Interested in learning the TRUE path of Yoga?

Join us here, this Autumn, the perfect time to draw within…

🍂 THE JOURNEY INWARD
A Full-Day Exploration of Yoga Beyond the Poses

A day to explore the deeper philosophy of yoga through discussion, movement, breath, meditation, reflection and self-inquiry.

We will journey through the Eight Limbs of Yoga, Yamas & Niyamas, Koshas, Kleshas, Samskaras and the Three Gunas-not simply as ancient concepts, but as teachings we can actually recognize and live in our everyday lives.

Sunday, October 18 | 9:30–4:30
Lunch included | $140

Register through the link provided here or etransfer [email protected].

Come curious.
Come exactly as you are.
Enjoy community. Self Study. Quiet moments and wisdom that will come from removing Avidya.

The journey isn’t about becoming someone new.

Perhaps it’s about becoming still enough to recognize who has been there all along. 🍂
