I met the woman I would become if I keep waiting... I didn’t like it 🥹.

Three ghosts visited me this Halloween and showed me a vision 👻 🎃

👻 Past: the girl who just lived.
Then the diets. The hiding, starting again every Monday.

👻 Present: overwhelmed, not knowing where to start.

👻 Future: the same loop, the same ‘I’ll start in January.’

Later turns into years.
We all do it.

At my heaviest, I could have buried my head in the sand.
I made a decision instead.

Small changes. Imperfect ones.
That’s the only reason I’m not the woman in that third ghost.

Our ghosts only shows you what happens if nothing changes.
You can change it & decide your future.

Tonight:
Say out loud where you are.
Pick one small change, not a whole new plan.
Do it imperfectly. Start anyway.

You can’t name it. You just know something’s off 😢

We smile at work.
We say we’re fine when anyone asks.
Then we sit in the car for five minutes before going indoors, feeling flat🥹.

Ask us what’s wrong and we couldn’t tell you.
It’s not sadness exactly.
It’s not stress exactly.
It’s just not feeling like us.

We’ve done the plans.
We’ve chased the number.
Now we don’t trust ourselves to start anything again.

So we scroll at night looking for the answer.
We save the posts and never act on them.
Because we don’t know where to start, everything feels too big.

So we do nothing.
Then we feel worse for doing nothing.

That’s not you being lazy.
That’s you being overwhelmed.
And you don’t need to know the cause yet.

You just need somewhere to start.
So don’t try to fix your whole life in one day.
Start small.

Step 1
Pick the part of your day you dread most - just one.

Step 2
Make it 10% easier, not perfect.

If mornings are chaos, lay out your clothes and prepare breakfast the night before.

If 3pm is where it all falls apart, plan a proper lunch and a 10 minute walk (even if it’s a walk to grab a sandwich).

If evenings are where you give up, decide dinner before you leave work.

That’s it.
One small thing.
That’s how you start trusting yourself again.

It takes minutes and will guide you to your starting point😘.

The clocks went back an hour last night.
So I thought I’d go back 25 years ⏰🔙.

My niece turned 21 last week.
I stood next to her balloons in a dress I’d never have dared to wear at 21, and joked if I could pass for the same age🙈.

People probably thought, who does she think she is?
But I knew the real answer.

At 21 I was a yo-yo dieter, up and down.
Recovering from trauma, drinking to block out life, and hiding behind being young.

Working all hours on minimum wage, trying to make ends meet. No voice. No boundaries. No idea what I stood for.

Then I made one decision.
I wanted more, despite the path I was handed.

No handouts, no inheritance to come, small steps, and a business I built from scratch. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it.

I stopped running from myself and faced the wounds that felt too deep to touch. I’m still learning, still growing.

To the girl at 21, thank you for finding yourself and getting us here.

Future me is waiting too.

What’s one thing you can do to make future you proud?

A KFC saved my deficit….Yes, really 🤔🍗

It’s lunchtime.
No lunch packed, no time, and the only option is a drive-thru.
We think the day is already ruined😢.

So we eat whatever and start again on Monday.
I used to do the same🙈.

Now I do something different, I have learned how to pivot
I ordered the rice bowl.

28g protein, 547 calories including the ranch and tasted incredible👌.

It kept me full and fuelled for my Hyrox session.
The rest of my day was granola and berries, scrambled eggs on toast, and a low fat yoghurt.

Not only did I hit my calories, I still had room for the snack.
One lunch you didn’t plan doesn’t ruin anything.

If you want to see more real life juggles like these, let me know.

Comment LUNCH and I’ll send you my grab and go lunch guide, for when Greggs, McDonald’s or KFC is your only option.

I was 41 before I learned what perimenopause was.
I had no idea it existed, let alone what the symptoms were.
Once I read up, I realised it could have started when I was 35.

At 42, I learned what PMDD was.
I don’t have it, but I’ve always struggled with my cycles.
And we were all told the same thing. Take a paracetamol, have a hot water bottle and get on with it.

Think about what that cost us.
The tiredness, the cravings, the bloating, the broken sleep.
We called it a lack of willpower and tried harder.
Then we started another diet.

Premenstrual tension was first written about in 1931.
However PMDD wasn’t formally recognised until 2013 and still not hugely publicised. Nobody explained it, so we blamed ourselves.

So now I’m doing something about it.
I’ve researched the symptoms.

I’ve started making notes of anything that might be connected.
Changes in my body, losing my train of thought, how often things happen.
I’m not guessing anymore. I’ll have something to take to my GP when the time comes.

You can do the same.
Track your cycle, sleep, mood and energy for two months.
Write down what you notice and when.

I’m not scared of menopause.
I’m scared of not realising what’s happening to my body until it has already happened.

Because we still don’t talk about it.
Let’s change that, so the next generation knows what we didn’t.

Comment CYCLE and I’ll send you my hormone guide and a 3 minute symptom check🔄.
