Birthday celebrations with the Winterbourne Club! 🩷

We had a double birthday celebration recently, made very special by our wonderful support workers organising birthday treats, balloons and a meal out with the whole club!🌟

🌟NEW JOB VACANCY IN BATH, BA1🌟

We are looking for a female companion for an 83-year-old lady in Bath who is living with Alzheimer’s.

She enjoys activities such as drawing and bingo, but either doesn't currently have the opportunity to do the things she enjoys, or finds it difficult to motivate herself to start. She would benefit from a companion who is both friendly and assertive.

The companion role could also include going on short walks, visiting the local shop, making a light lunch (sandwich),going out for a drink and cake, or just staying at home and chatting.

If you live within a 15 min drive of Bath, have a passion for helping people in your community and a clean driving licence, we'd love to hear from you!

✨Every Monday, early afternoon for 2 hours.

✨£14.50/hour inc. holiday pay.

✨Enhanced DBS required, either on the update service or willing to obtain.

We are looking for a supportive, chatty companion for an 80 year old lady living with dementia.

She would like some support to continue getting out and about to local cafes as she has always had an active social life and enjoys chatting.

Ideally visits would be on Tuesdays for 3 hours, either 10am - 1pm or 11am - 2pm.

£14.50/hour inc. holiday pay.

We've been loving the golden autumn light🌤

At the Redland Club, we've been making the most of the crisp, sunny weather recently and getting out for our weekly walks.

Clients have enjoyed noticing the falling leaves and beautiful autumnal hues. 🍂

Winterbourne Day Club had a trip out to Winterbourne Medieval Barn this week!

They were welcomed by the friendly team for a tour and refreshments.🫖

The clients enjoyed having a look around and learning more about local history.

It's great to see our clients enjoying getting out and about and supporting them to access the local community! This trip was included in our regular day club price, with trained staff supporting the clients throughout.💫

Maybe you've heard of a therapy dog... But have you ever heard of a therapy tortoise?🐢

Our Day Club Coordinator Chrissie recently visited Winterbourne Day Club with some of her rescued tortoises.

The clients loved meeting Walter, Bradley, Denise and Dominic!

Coming to one of our Day Clubs often means trying new things - and on this day it was tickling a tortoise under the chin!

With the right support, with person-centred activities fuelled by curiosity and creativity, people living with dementia can thrive.🧡

We do want to acknowledge that dementia can be incredibly difficult, for all involved, and everyone's experience is different. Whatever the situation, as a purpose-led organisation, we will always try to help, or connect you with someone who can.

Some of our Day Club clients recently enjoyed a trip out to the M Shed Bristol Museums ✨

It was a wonderful day full of conversation sparked by Bristol's history and landscape.⚓

Clients shared their own memories of the local area, as well as learning more through interactive exhibits.🏛

This trip was included in the usual price of the day club and the outing was facilitated by our friendly, trained team who become familiar faces through the weekly sessions.
