π Rest is not something you have to earn. β€οΈ
How often do you find yourself thinking...
"I'll sit down when I've finished everything."
"I'll take some time for myself when things quieten down."
"I'll relax when I've done enough."
But somehow, there's always something else that needs doing.
Another responsibility.
Another expectation.
Another thing on that never-ending list.
And before we know it, rest has become something we feel we have to deserve, rather than something we genuinely need.
I've been reflecting on this quite a lot recently.
Sometimes, slowing down doesn't come naturally. Especially when you're used to being busy, being strong, being the one who gets things done.
But we're human beings, not machines.
We have days when we feel energised and capable, and days when we need a little more space, a little more kindness and a little less pressure.
And that's okay.
πΏ You don't have to be productive every moment.
πΏ You don't have to justify taking time for yourself.
πΏ You don't have to wait until you're exhausted before allowing yourself to rest.
So, if today gives you the opportunity, take a little pause.
Enjoy that cup of tea while it's still warm.
Go for a walk without worrying about how many steps you've done.
Sit quietly and simply breathe.
Rest isn't a reward for everything you've accomplished. It's part of looking after yourself.
Wishing you a gentle Sunday. β€οΈ
