The Earth element meridians start or end on the feet.

The Stomach meridian runs on both sides of the body, starting below the eye, running down to the jaw, up around the cheek and to the forehead then down beside the nose, over the torso, down the front of the legs and down to the end of the second toe. It’s peak time is 7am-9am, a time when physical breakfast and a grounded routine to start the day can really fuel us up. Anxiety, stress and worry create imbalance in the stomach (or are created by!). Feeling grounded, content, satisfied and resourced show this meridian is in balance.

The Spleen meridian runs on both sides of the body, starting at the outside of the big toe, up the inside leg, over the torso to the arm ‘crease’ and down the side of the body ending at the 9th rib. This meridian is all about distributing resources to where they are needed and eliminating toxicity. In TCM pancreas function is seen as part of this meridian function so balancing sweetness is a significant aspect. It’s peak time is 9am-11am, the time when we are often digesting our breakfast and our ‘to do’ list and breaking these down into manageable parts.

Welcome to October 🤷‍♂️🌰🍁🍃🍂
In the Northern Hemisphere this is the month to continue to soak up the Sun rays whenever they show themselves, as we drop into the cooler darker months.
💛 The magic formula for endocrine health appears to be 20 minutes a day at least on forearms and brow.
❤️ I love this month, as the leaves turn and the nights draw in, we are encouraged into being active and getting cosy in equal measure.
🌬 As the winds rage, we might be asked to look at what needs sweeping away, what needs holding tightly on to, and what needs extra focus or protection.
⚖️ We are likely to be yo-yoing between the last bit of the Earth element (Late Summer) and the Metal element starting to come in stronger (Autumn).

The joy of working with the seasons is that they change when they are ready....not in line with the rigid calendar.
Wishing you a wonderful month of really gathering the last of the harvest, and really letting go of the dross to the compost heap
Sarah-Jayne 🌾🌍✨
