During a recent study session I was prompted to answer the following question "What makes me feel most like myself"?
Hmmm, it was a bit of a belter of a question to be honest. Self reflection isn't something I relish!
However, taking time to think about yourself, about where you are in life, about where you want to be and what you want to do can be a very positive thing. It pushed me to do something I've been meaning to do for weeks. I've not had my own space since giving up the wee shop. So today I made space and created a place where I can sit and be myself. A quiet corner to continue my Reiki practices and a place to take time out when needed. The suns rays shining in seem to land directly on my new space, coincidence? 😊🙏

Following on from my last post here is a little bit more about the 13 Magical Nights which begin on December 21st (Winter Solstice). This is a lovely, positive practice anyone can do and all you need in the first instance is:-

13 strips of paper similar to the ones in my photo.
A box or container made from natural materials, wood, glass, leather, cardboard, metal (not plastic).

On each strip you write what it is you wish to manifest in the forth coming year. Always write it as if it has happened already e.g. 'I have abundance in my life' rather than 'I hope to have an abundant year!' You can begin this preparation anytime but I would suggest you don't leave it until 20th of December as I did last year otherwise you will then be frantically thinking of what to write down! This year I started last Saturday (10/10 portal and also the new moon) as both are about setting clear intentions/goals etc and manifesting so a good time to start I thought. Some people will have started thirteen weeks before the Winter Solstice so they can write one wish per week. There is no right or wrong way. Do what is right for you. Once you have written something down, fold the piece of paper and place it into your box. I shall reveal what we do with those wishes soon in another post unless you have had a sneaky peak at google lol! 😉 🧙‍♀️ 🧹

Autumn, my favourite time of year. I love the coolness, the crispness and the changing colours. It's where we edge closer towards the dark half of the year. Where we celebrate Samhain (pronounced sow-in). The end of the harvest. Where the veil between the physical world and the spiritual realm is at its thinnest. More on that later!

Last year I observed the 'Thirteen Magical Nights' (also known as The Ritual of Rauhnachte) for the first time. This is a window of opportunity from December 21st until 2nd January to release to the universe all that you wish to manifest in the year ahead. The preparation however begins ahead of the Winter Solstice.

There is no set rule, some folks will have already begun their prep and some will be much later in starting. I will start this Saturday evening (for no particular reason lol!). If you are curious to know more stay tuned 😉 🧙 🧹

Sometimes I just like to sit in peace and quiet. In perfect solitude. In nature. This is a favourite place of mine to go. I rarely meet another soul. I've sat here in every season, in every weather and it always leaves me feeling calm and grounded. Maybe one day I'll tell you where it is 😉
In the meantime, if you ever feel overwhelmed by all the noise and chaos I can highly recommend stepping off the hamster wheel and go find your own little quiet space and just sit a while in perfect solitude 🙏

Well after many months of nurturing, watering, feeding and just generally looking after my tumbling tomato plants I finally have some red ones! A bonus is they are bloody delicious 😋 It's the little things you know that bring a smile. It's far too easy to get bogged down with the relentless misery the media and politicians bestow upon us each and every day! Nature has a way of showing us there are better things occuring out there and for that I am grateful 🙏

And just like that July is almost over! I've had a varied and busy month. My Reiki practice is still on pause whilst I decide what to do now I don't have my wee premises anymore. I think I need a plan to get a plan is where I'm at right now. In the meantime I did take on a glass cabinet down at Crieff Garden and Visitors Centre. I have put some of my stock there, mostly the crystals and jewellery. Interestingly, I have sold more from that glass cabinet than I did from the wee shop in the town. Sadly footfall in the town is not good! Many a day I looked out the window to an absolutely deserted High Street 😕 Sadly, I know that is the situation in many towns across Scotland and indeed the rest of the UK too!
Anyhoo, I have been a busy bee, I was back behind the desk at P&A Eyecare after 18 months away covering for staff holidays. I have also been on the Bear Trail and have bagged quite a few so far with more to come later this week. It's been a lot of fun finding them and the good weather was a bonus. All in all July has been a productive month and for that I am grateful 🙏

What a lovely Friday afternoon, hazy sunshine, slight breeze, low humidity and a very pleasant 22c. Perfect conditions you might say. Monty has been for a walk in the shade of the trees and a swim in the river and is now dreaming of his adventures. I have just watered my teeny tiny garden and am very excited to spot that one of my tumbling tomato plants has a couple of tomatoes. I had almost given up hope of finding any. The other plant still has none, however I live in hope! It just goes to show that a little bit of sunshine perks everything up. It also lifts the spirits and instils so much positive energy into everything. Have a great weekend 🙏

Good morning from Reiki Life HQ. My path has taken yet another turn. The unit I have been working from has been sold. I was given the opportunity to buy it and also to carry on renting it. I have decided to do neither. This last year has been a rocky road to say the least. I started in one shop, moved to another, moved out when the ceiling fell in, moved back in again and then a week later was told the unit was going up for sale.

I'm a great believer in things happen for a reason and I think the universe has other plans for me. What those plans are has not unfolded yet but I have faith all will be revealed. In the meantime I shall continue my daily self Reiki practice. I shall continue to deepen my learning and work towards becoming a Reiki Master later this year.
