🤧 Help protect your child this winter — have they had their flu vaccination? 💙

As the colder months approach, flu can spread quickly among children, affecting their health, disrupting school and potentially spreading to vulnerable family members.

💉 There are 5 great reasons to get your child vaccinated against flu:

✅ Protect your child from flu and serious complications, including bronchitis and pneumonia.

❤️ Help protect your family and friends, particularly grandparents and others who may be more vulnerable.

👃 No injection needed for most children — the nasal spray vaccine is quick and painless.

🛡️ A well-established vaccine that has been given to millions of children worldwide and has an excellent safety record.

🏫 Help avoid disruption to school, work and family life caused by flu.

The children's flu vaccine is offered free through the NHS to eligible children. Most receive it as a simple nasal spray.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Please don't leave it until flu is already spreading. Book online at https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/vaccination-and-booking-services/book-flu-vaccination/ or see your pharmacist.

Let's work together to keep our children, families and communities healthier this winter

💙 A small favour that means the world to us…

As many of you know, Allestree Pharmacy has been part of this community for years — and like so many independent pharmacies across the country, things aren't easy right now. We're not a big chain. There's no corporate backing. It's just us, working hard every day to be here for you.

One of the best ways you can help us grow — completely free — is by leaving us a Google review. It takes less than a minute, but it genuinely makes a difference to whether new patients in the area choose us or scroll past.

If we've ever gone the extra mile for you, remembered your name, sorted a prescription at short notice, or just made you feel looked after — we'd be so grateful if you could share that. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

💉 Flu & COVID Vaccinations — Bookings Now Open! 💉

The national NHS booking site is now accepting appointments for this year's flu and COVID-19 vaccinations — and we strongly encourage everyone who is eligible to get booked in as soon as possible!

🔗 Book online here: https://www.nhs.uk/book-a-vaccine/

Why is it so important to get vaccinated?

🤧 Flu can be far more serious than a common cold — it can lead to hospitalisation, particularly in older adults, young children, pregnant women, and those with underlying health conditions. Getting vaccinated every year helps protect you and those around you, as the flu virus changes each season.

🦠 COVID-19 continues to circulate, and for many vulnerable individuals it can still cause severe illness. Staying up to date with your COVID booster helps maintain your protection as immunity can reduce over time.

Getting both vaccines is quick, safe, and free on the NHS for those who are eligible. Don't wait — appointments can fill up fast!

📞 Having trouble booking online? No problem!
Give us a call at Allestree Pharmacy (01332 557330) and we'll be happy to help you get booked in.

Let's head into winter protected! 🍂💪
