Burnout flows downhill.

When a team starts slipping, the first place to look is often the person running it. Teams take their cues from their manager’s tone and pace, and a stretched leader sets a stretched team.

The signs show up late: a shorter fuse, slower decisions, always online but rarely present. By the time anyone notices, it’s been building for months.

Perks don’t fix that. What does is protected recovery time, built into the week, with leaders going first so their teams feel able to follow.

Recovery isn’t a nice-to-have. It’s operational resilience: better decisions, better retention, and leaders who last.

If you run a team in Derry and want to talk about recovery sessions for your leaders, DM TEAM.

The bug went weeks ago. The tiredness didn’t.

Post-viral fatigue is common, and rarely talked about. Fighting off an infection drives inflammation through the whole body, and that doesn’t always settle as quickly as the symptoms do.

The most common trap is boom and bust: a good day, so you catch up on everything, then you’re wiped out for three. Doing a little less than you feel able to, even on good days, and building up slowly tends to work better.

This is also where hyperbaric oxygen fits. HBOT is well researched for reducing inflammation, and studies on post-COVID fatigue have shown promising results. You can book it on its own, or as Stage 3 of the Revive Circuit.

If you’re still struggling after a few weeks, or it’s getting worse, see your GP first. We work alongside that.

The clocks go back on Sunday, and for a lot of people, energy goes with them.

Your body clock is set by light. Shorter, greyer days give your brain a weaker signal about when to be awake, so days blur together and energy flattens out by mid-afternoon.

Three things that help:
1. Get outside at lunchtime. It’s the brightest light of a winter day.
2. Keep the same wake-up time, even on dark mornings.
3. Work where you can see the sky.

And if winter brings low mood, losing interest in things, or sleeping far more than usual, that could be seasonal depression. It’s real, and it’s worth talking to your GP.

Send this to someone who hates the clocks going back.

Not every kind of tired is stress. If you’ve sorted your sleep, cut back on caffeine and still feel flat, it may be something you can actually measure. Low iron, low vitamin D and thyroid changes can all feel a lot like burnout from the inside. It’s especially relevant here and now.

From October to March, the sun in Northern Ireland is too weak for your skin to make enough vitamin D, which is why NHS advice is to consider a daily supplement through the winter.

This Sunday, 25 October, we’re hosting a pop-up blood analysis clinic at Revive with Dr Mary Slevin from Woodfield Clinic and Zoe Roulston from IntraWell Co.
Appointments booked in advance.

Three therapies. One order. Here’s why it matters.

The Revive Circuit is our most complete session, and the sequence is deliberate.

Stage 1, BioLight: blue light and PEMF together. PEMF helps shift your body towards its rest-and-recover state, and blue light supports your body clock. It sets the conditions.

Stage 2, Red Light: our 42,000-LED system covers you head to toe, all at once, in red and near-infrared light. Those wavelengths act on the mitochondria, where your cells make energy.

Stage 3, HBOT at 1.4 ATA: under pressure, oxygen dissolves directly into your blood plasma, reaching tissue at levels normal breathing can’t. That oxygen fuels the repair the first two stages set up.

It’s built for people running on empty: fatigue that sleep doesn’t touch, brain fog, burnout, coming back after illness.

Not sure it fits what you’re dealing with? Book a consultation first and we’ll tell you honestly. Link in bio.

Four things everyone believes about being tired. Three of them are wrong.

Coffee doesn’t give you energy. It blocks adenosine, the signal that tells your brain you’re tired, while the sleep pressure underneath keeps building. That’s the crash.

A big weekend lie-in doesn’t repay the week. It pushes your body clock later, so Monday morning feels like jet lag.

Burnout isn’t just being tired. The World Health Organisation describes it as three things: exhaustion, feeling detached or cynical about work, and feeling less effective. Rest helps the first. It doesn’t automatically fix the other two.

And the one that’s true: morning daylight is one of the strongest signals your body clock gets. It helps set the timing of your evening sleep signal, so ten minutes outside before noon does more for tonight than you’d think.

If you’re doing everything right and still exhausted, check which of these you’re leaning on.

Send this to the friend running on coffee and lie-ins.

Exhausted all day. Wide awake at 3am.
If you’re in your 40s and this has crept up on you, it might not just be stress.

In perimenopause, a few things shift at once. Progesterone, which helps feed your brain’s calming system, starts to fall and fluctuate. Your body’s thermostat gets less reliable, and sleep depends on your core temperature dropping. And a nervous system that’s been on alert for years has less headroom, so it wakes to smaller signals.

None of that is a willpower problem. It’s physiology. Some of it responds to small, specific changes: a cooler room, lamps instead of big lights in the evening, and getting up after 20 minutes awake instead of lying there fighting it.

If your sleep has changed, or it’s getting worse, raise it with your GP. It’s worth the conversation. Anything we do at Revive sits alongside that, not instead of it.

October is Menopause Awareness Month. We’ll be talking about this a lot.

Send this to someone who’s awake at 3am tonight.

You can’t think your way out of fight-or-flight.

This week we’ve talked about what happens when your nervous system stays switched on - through perimenopause, through years of low-level stress, through never quite getting a proper break. Mindset helps. But a body that’s been on alert for a long time often needs a physical signal first.

That’s what the Revive Circuit is built around. Three sessions, back to back, in a set order:

Stage 1 - BioLight. PEMF activates your rest-and-recover system and starts cellular repair. Blue light supports your circadian rhythm.

Stage 2 - Red Light. Our 42,000-LED system covers you head to toe at once, stimulating your mitochondria to produce ATP - the energy your cells repair with.

Stage 3 - HBOT. At 1.4 ATA, oxygen dissolves directly into your blood plasma. It fuels the energy production red light has just switched on, and brings inflammation down across the body.

Each stage is chosen to set up the next. That’s why we run them together rather than as three separate sessions.

If this week’s posts sounded like you, this is where we’d start.

If AI news makes your chest tight, that’s not you being dramatic. It’s your threat system doing its job.

Your brain copes with bad news surprisingly well. What it struggles with is not knowing.
In one study (de Berker et al., Nature Communications, 2016), people were more stressed when they didn’t know whether a shock was coming than when they knew for certain it was.

AI news is uncertainty on a loop. So your body stays on standby: tight shoulders, shallow breathing, sleep that doesn’t land.
What helps is honestly boring:
1. Cap the input. One set time for news, not fifty checks a day.
2. Write it down. Name what you’re worried about, and one thing you can control.
3. Work on the body. It settles before your mind does. Walk, slow your exhale, get some daylight.
None of this makes the future certain. It stops your body paying for it in advance.

Send this to someone doomscrolling AI news.
