Your body isn't a template. So why should your massage be?

Your symptoms, goals and how your body responds all help shape your treatment. What works for one person might not be right for another — and your needs can change, too.

It's not about using as many techniques as possible. It's about finding an approach that makes sense for you. 💚

If recurring tension or muscular discomfort keeps creeping back, don't feel you have to just put up with it. Let's explore whether tailored therapeutic massage could help.

Not every massage therapist is the right fit for every person — and that's absolutely okay. 💚

My approach isn't about following a set routine, using the deepest pressure possible, or promising to fix everything in one session.

It's about understanding what's going on for you, what you're hoping to achieve, and adapting treatment accordingly.

I'll always be honest about what I can offer, work within my scope, and listen when you tell me what does (or doesn't!) feel right for your body.

Because you deserve to feel heard, respected and involved in your own treatment. 🌿

If you're looking for a tailored, personalised approach to help manage recurring muscular tension and discomfort, we might be a good fit.

Jaw tension isn't always just about the jaw… 💚

Clenching your teeth, grinding, jaw discomfort, or that feeling of tightness around your temples? You might notice tension in your neck, shoulders or chest, too.

The muscles around the jaw, head and neck work together, which is why my new Focused TMJ & Cranial Treatment takes a broader approach.

Using slow, gentle techniques tailored to you, treatment may include work around the neck, chest, head and jaw, with intra-oral techniques where appropriate and with your consent.

No forceful manipulation. No one-size-fits-all routine. Just a considered approach based on your needs and what feels right for your body.

It's always lovely to hear that a treatment has made a difference — but what matters most to me is understanding the person behind the tension. 💚

Everyone arrives with a different history, different needs and different goals. That's why I take the time to listen, understand what's going on and adapt each treatment to the individual, rather than simply following the same routine every time.

Whether you're dealing with recurring muscular tension, discomfort that's affecting everyday life, or simply need some time to switch off, we'll start with a conversation about what you need and whether massage is an appropriate option.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to share their experience and support In Balance. It genuinely means a lot.

🍎 Calling all school staff! 💚

That first half term can be a LOT.

The new school year, getting to know new classes, lesson planning, marking, parents' evenings… all while trying to keep on top of everything outside school, too.

And somewhere in amongst all that, looking after yourself can end up at the bottom of the list.

As a former teacher, I know first-hand how much you can end up carrying — mentally and physically.

So, this half term, I'm offering £5 off a 60-minute therapeutic massage for all school staff. 💆‍♀️ Teachers, LSAs, Admin, Support staff - you're all welcome ☺️

Whether you're carrying tension in your neck and shoulders, feeling it in your back, or just need some help addressing those niggling muscular aches, a tailored treatment gives us time to focus on what your body needs.

📅 Available during half term week, commencing 26th - 30th October

School ID to be shown at appointment.

💚 60-minute massage for £50 instead of £55

Appointments are available in Exeter at Gandy Street and Pynes Hill Business Centre.

Give yourself permission to make some time for you, too.

📩 DM me or book via the link in my bio.

Please share with a teacher or school staff member who could do with a little TLC this half term! 💚

🚗 You wouldn't ignore your car making a strange noise and just hope it goes away…

So why do we do it with our bodies? 👀

That niggling shoulder. The tightness in your neck. The back that keeps reminding you it's there.

It's easy to put these things down to work, stress, exercise or just getting on with life. And when you're busy, it's tempting to keep pushing through.

But you don't have to wait until the discomfort becomes unbearable before you do something about it.

Therapeutic massage can be one way to help manage recurring muscular tension and discomfort, with treatment tailored to you, your symptoms and what you're hoping to achieve.

Because your body deserves a little attention before it's running on the equivalent of an engine warning light. 😉

💚 More than relaxation. Individualised therapeutic massage in Exeter.

📍 Gandy Street — Tuesdays & Wednesdays
📍 Pynes Hill Business Centre — Thursdays & Fridays

If something's been niggling away for a while, let's talk about whether massage might be appropriate for you.

Do you ever get imposter syndrome and feel like you need to know everything before you can call yourself good at what you do? 🙋‍♀️

Imposter syndrome can be a funny thing and it'snot the first time I've experienced it, and doubt it will be the last! I think it is quite a human thing to question whether you're good enough, in any role, and at all levels of training and experience.

I'm still learning. I'm still developing my skills. And I think that's exactly how it should be.

To me being a good therapist isn't about knowing everything or having all the answers (as much as I would like to 🤪). It's about understanding your scope, skills and limitations, being willing to learn, listening to your clients and adapting your approach to the person in front of you.

That's what I want In Balance to be about: thoughtful, individualised treatment, with your needs at the centre. 💚

You don't have to be perfect to make a difference. You have to care enough to keep learning.

Have you ever experienced imposter syndrome in your own work or life? I'd love to know I'm not the only one! 👇

Unpopular opinion: relaxation isn't always the main goal. 👀

Don't get me wrong — I love that feeling of switching off during a massage. 🤍

But if you've booked because your shoulders are constantly tight, your neck keeps aching, or the same discomfort keeps coming back, I want us to look beyond simply helping you relax for an hour.

I want to understand what you're experiencing, tailor your treatment to you, and work towards helping you feel more comfortable in your everyday life.

Sometimes that means focused massage. Sometimes it means taking a different approach. And sometimes it means recognising when something needs further assessment.

You don't have to know exactly what treatment you need before you arrive. That's something we can work out together.
