A little later than planned! Last week rather ran away with us, but we finally have our winner of the “Show Us Your Morning” competition!

Congratulations to Victoria Johnstone

What a gorgeous view to start the day, especially from between those ears!

A huge thank you to everyone who took part. We've really enjoyed seeing your photos and getting a little glimpse into your mornings.

Victoria, please drop us a message so we can arrange your prize.

We'll definitely have to do another photo competition soon!

It’s surprising how a few extra grams each day can add up!

In this video, I explain why following the recommended feed rates matters, both for your horse and your pocket.

Are you guilty of being a little generous with the scoop?

Thanks Natasha - means a lot

𝐈𝐟 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐧𝐨𝐰…

Is there one horse or pony from your past that you wish you could go back to, knowing everything you've learnt since?

One that perhaps you might have understood a little better, or been able to make life a bit easier for?

I've had quite a few troubled horses and ponies over the years, and there are several I often think about.

One in particular was a pony called Rosie.

She was incredibly hot, could turn herself inside out and was certainly not an easy pony. Eventually, she retired early and spent her days living in a field with other retired horses.

Looking back now, with everything I've learnt about digestive health and how discomfort can influence behaviour, I do wonder whether there was something going on that we simply didn't recognise at the time.

Was her digestive system struggling? Was her hindgut unhappy? Was there something else entirely?

I'll never know, but I do wish I could go back and look at her through the eyes I have today.

We learn so much from the horses that challenge us, but sometimes I think it's the ones we couldn't quite figure out that stay with us the longest.

So, who's your Rosie?

That one horse or pony you'd love to have another chance with, knowing what you know now.

🍂 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔 𝗕𝗜𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗙𝗨𝗡… 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗨𝗦 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗦!

It’s definitely starting to feel like autumn! We’ve even given in and turned the heating on in the office.
The middle of the day might still be fairly mild, but those early mornings and evenings are certainly getting chillier.
And there’s something rather lovely about autumn mornings at the yard. The mist hanging over the fields, the changing colours, or simply being greeted by a hungry horse wondering where breakfast is!

So we thought we’d have a little fun.

We would love to see your mornings with your horses!
Share a photo in the comments for the chance to win a Maximum Animal Health mug or insulated water bottle.
And yes, Instagram followers, you may now be able to add photos directly to the comments too!

We’ll draw a winner at random on Thursday 22nd October, so you’ve got a few mornings to capture that perfect shot.

Beautiful sunrises, muddy fields, sleepy horses — let’s see them all!
UK entries only. One entry per person.
Thank you to Jade Human for the photo of two gorgeous boys

💚𝗔 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮.
When two newborn foals experienced digestive difficulties in their first few days, their breeder turned to a product she’d already trusted for over three years with her competition horses — Maximum Gut Health PLUS.

She introduced PLUS into the feeding program for both mares and foals and was delighted to report a significant improvement in the foals within a very short time.

It’s always rewarding to receive feedback like this, particularly when it comes from a customer who has been using our products for years.
A foal’s gut microbiome is still developing during those early weeks of life, and supporting a healthy digestive environment is an important part of their nutritional wellbeing.

Maximum Gut Health PLUS combines live yeast, MOS, FOS and calcareous marine algae to support normal digestive function and microbial balance.
A huge thank you to our South African customer for sharing this lovely video of her mares and foals.

From competition horses to the next generation. That’s customer confidence we really value.

I’ve had a number of customers contact me this week about changes in their horses’ behaviour or droppings. So here’s a little reminder about seasonal changes and the importance of supporting gut health at this time of year.

We always advise temporarily increasing the feed rate during periods of change or stress, which is why all new customers receive an extra 500g of Maximum Gut Health with their first order, along with our feeding advice card.

Are you noticing anything different with your horse at the moment, or does this seem to happen every autumn?
