SPINAL DECOMPRESSION CANNOT FIX SCOLIOSIS

As usual, I’ll use simple terms in this post. This is so that it makes sense to everyone…

Let’s get straight to the point. Spinal decompression CANNOT fix scoliosis. In fact it’s unsafe to even attempt it!

If a ‘therapist’ tells you that they can do it, then your next question should be this…

“Did you get your diploma out of a christmas cracker?”

It is IMPOSSIBLE for spinal decompression to help with scoliosis!!

Can my treatments help with this condition?

The answer is both, yes and no!

The clients I can help have FUNCTIONAL SCOLIOSIS.

This is temporary, and means resolving muscle imbalances or spasms that are pulling the spine to one side at a mild angle. Once the tight paraspinal muscles are taken care of then the curve can improve!

The clients I can’t help have STRUCTURAL SCOLIOSIS.

This is a permanent condition where the spine twists and curves to the side at a severe angle. My treatments are no good for this, and neither is any other type of treatment, including decompression. Although, I hear specialised physiotherapy can be helpful.

In the whole time that humans have walked on the earth, not once has scoliosis been fixed by spinal decompression. It hasn’t happened in a Harley Street clinic, and it hasn’t happened in a Kirkcaldy tool shed!

If you’ve read some of my recent posts, then you’ll know I’ve been talking about structural instability that can be caused by aggressive methods. If you throw in a lateral C or S shaped curve, then make sure there’s an orthopaedic surgeon on speed dial!

Here are the risks of spinal decompression for scoliosis…

▪️Fractures
▪️Nerve damage
▪️Spinal cord injury
▪️Worsening disc problems

Spinal decompression does not help with muscle imbalances, and it can’t fix a permanent disorder!

‘Therapists’ who say otherwise, are dangerous and should be avoided!

When the arc is unalterable then surgery is the only option. Even then, for the clients I’ve met at least, their surgeon has advised against it. This is because it’s extremely invasive and high risk. To straighten this type of scoliotic curve involves rods and screws!

If you see a video where a ‘therapist’ has miraculously fixed scoliosis with spinal decompression then there’s only one reason for this…

They didn’t have scoliosis in the first place! 🤥

THE TRUTH ABOUT CRACKING

My previous posts on crucial guidance has sparked client questions about cracking; what it does or more importantly what it doesn’t do!

It’s better for me if I can put the answer to these types of questions on here. That way I can point everyone to the post instead of repeating myself multiple times!

As usual, I’ll do my best to explain it in simple terms so it makes sense to everyone. Especially those who work in the industry who think spine farts, as I call them, actually have a purpose!

Just like in the pic below I have a bad habit of cracking my fingers. A lot of us do it, but what is actually happening?

Well, according to some ‘therapists’ the louder the crack means the bigger the adjustment! 🙄 If you hear a therapist saying that, then that’s your cue to run in the opposite direction!

So if I crack my fingers, does it mean I’ve just given them an adjustment? Does it mean that they were out of alignment and they are now back in alignment?

Of course not, my fingers are no different than they were before I cracked them!

What happens if I try to crack them again?

I might get a smaller pop, and then the third time, probably silence!

Although, give it half an hour and it will happen all over again. This is because more gas bubbles form causing additional cracks and pops 🫧

Some people like to call this cavitation, but it’s just a fancy word to describe a process. It’s not a healthcare procedure, and it doesn’t mean that anything therapeutic has happened. Cavitation actually describes the formation of physical cavities and empty spaces inside the body.

Chiros stole the term from the engineering world a long time ago; to dress something up that’s doing very little.

The term was adopted by a naval architect to explain how a ship’s propeller gets eroded. This was the same year as the very first chiropractor turned up on the scene to physically abuse their patients with forced audible cracks.
Coincidence? I think not!

I wonder what the Quack was drinking the day he came up with this ‘cracking’ idea? Whichever drinking buddy let him do it, they must have been absolutely minging 🥴

“Hey man, any chance I can grab your head and rotate it aggressively to see what happens?“

“Yeah sure, and maybe after that we can light a fire and stick our faces in it to see how hot it is!” 🥵

Ironically, cavitation is something that’s considered a problem by marine engineers. The reason it causes damage to a ship’s propeller blades is because of a violent collapse of vapour bubbles which creates shockwaves. Of course, only a chiro could take something that’s detrimental and make it sound like a health benefit.

I’m not saying the body will experience the same problems as a frigate, but it will experience problems. You can read about them in previous posts.

Let’s get back to spine farts and really think about what’s going on… 🤔

If you put too many baked beans on your toast, and you let out an almighty ripper later in the day, does that mean you have just given your digestive system a massive adjustment? 💨

Alright, I’m being a wee bit silly but it’s no more ridiculous to think that a spine fart has just given your skeletal system a massive adjustment!

Our joints are surrounded by a capsule. It’s kind of like a water balloon, filled with lubricating fluid, which keeps our moving parts functioning properly. It’s just like how we put engine oil in our cars to reduce friction and prevent wear.

This liquid substance is called synovial fluid. It lubricates our movable joints that some people call synovial joints, for obvious reasons. This fluid contains dissolved gases, namely nitrogen, carbon dioxide and oxygen.

When a spine farter applies a thrust, the joint surfaces quickly separate, which lowers the pressure. A rapid gas bubble is then formed, which makes a popping or cracking sound; aka cavitation. Think about this the next time you open a can of Irn-bru, it’s kind of the same thing!

So what does this all mean for the receiver of the spine farts?

Well unfortunately, very little. You have just parted with a lot of money for no reason. Nothing has changed, because nothing has been adjusted!

If you’re lucky enough this hasn’t caused injury or contributed to your pain. If you’re lucky enough the placebo effect might fool you for a short time. If you’re really lucky you may get a few hours or days of relief. The space that has been pulled apart inevitably closes to enable you to attempt it all over again…

That said, every now and then, a small minority who are extremely lucky may get longer results. However, the truth is that the people who fall into this category can fix this on their own for free. I regularly show clients how to do this safely; unlike forceful manipulations!

My wife and I are both gluten free, so it’s been a long time since I’ve had Maccy D’s 🍔 but I can still remember the feeling of being full and satisfied, and then an hour later feeling hungry again. This is because refined carbohydrates and sugars cause a rapid blood sugar spike. This is followed by a sharp crash that triggers false hunger signals.

This is how spinal manipulation feels to many people. Not long after you’ve finished writing your prompted client review, you’re back to where you started, and the vicious circle continues!

Many of you reading this, who have been treated by me might be thinking, wait a minute, when I was in your treatment room my body was popping away like a machine gun???

Well yes, this can happen during a manual therapy. For others, there’s no sound at all. It may be less satisfying if that’s what you’re hoping for, but the benefits are exactly the same either way!

My focus is always on the soft tissue, because it’s nearly always the root of the problem. It’s the reason why word of mouth recommendations are still a therapist’s best client source.

Seriously, if you’re a therapist, don’t waste too much time on social media. Put all your energy into gaining knowledge and real remedial techniques. If you can do this then the results will come, and so will the clients!

Everyone knows someone who has been to a spine farter and is still in the same, or worse pain. This is why I don’t need to advertise, because these numpties inadvertently send clients in my direction. If you’re getting results, your clients will do all the promo work that you need!

Some spine farting ‘therapists’ know fine well that cracking and popping is doing absolutely nothing. However, that won’t stop them taking your money multiple times if you let them.

They know it’s a soft tissue problem but they don’t know what to do about it. They’re not willing to learn how to resolve it properly. They’re not willing to put in the work and time that’s required to help their clients. They’re not going to do it because it’s not easy pickings!💰

Instead, they might rattle away with a massage gun while hoping for the best because some random guy on youtube told them it was a good idea!

FYI… as much as massage guns have their place, I use mine very occasionally and where appropriate; I still view them as lazy therapy. Using one on someone with a back problem has about as much benefit as trying to dig a trench in Antarctica with a teaspoon!

Glutes, quads and calves for example can really benefit if you know what you’re doing with it. I’ve shown lots of clients how to use one properly at home 🔫

As usual, I’ve gone off on a tangent so I’ll bring this post to an end. However, in conclusion, just be careful where you go for pain relief… some of these ignorant jokers ‘crack’ me up! 🤡

CRUCIAL GUIDANCE - 3

In the previous two posts I said that social media is full of ‘smoke and mirrors’, and as you can see I once held an accordion, but the truth is, I can’t play a note!

Now, I could tell you that I was a child prodigy and I’ve been playing for fifty years, or that I used to jam with the great man himself, Sir Jimmy Shand, but these would all be lies. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in now, where unscrupulous individuals can say what they want, to prey on people at their most vulnerable. Their goal is to rob them of their money!

I also said that therapists who use high velocity methods are playing the spine just like this accordion. They’re pulling it apart, only for it to naturally return to its compressed state, because it’s not the actual problem. These DIY ‘therapists’ use brutal methods that cause more harm than good!

It might make a noise, just like I can get some kind of racket out of this squeeze box, as air gets pushed and pulled across its internal reeds. The vertebral column also makes a noise, as dissolved gases in the fluid of our movable joints form and release a gas bubble 🫧

We’re all now aware of the danger that exists for people who use unqualified and inexperienced lookalikey chiros. These classroom dodgers have certificates that would have far more benefit in the stalls of a public toilet 🧻

As much as I’m probably the only therapist sharing awareness about it, I also know that every therapist, practitioner and healthcare professional is talking about it, and not in a good way!

I suppose I get it in a way, because if I needed to supplement my state pension, then yeah, I’m going to look for a way to do it. However, I feel confident that I’d be looking for something that doesn’t put others at risk. If you can’t treat your clients with dignity, then you’re in the wrong job!

There’s a bigger issue here than just one donut who received their soft tissue education from a massage gun instruction manual. The greater concern is that there’s no shortage of donuts. If one of them is doing it, then it gives the green light for others to follow, meaning it puts even more people at risk!

They’re easy to spot because they’ll be churning out multiple sensationalised videos. Trickery is the only way they can get people through their door. As for the rest of us, we just let it happen organically. I post less times in a year than these attention seekers post in a week!

Let’s keep it real, it’s no secret that I don’t believe in what licensed chiropractors do, never mind the unregulated fakers. I know that for the majority of people, spinal manipulation is ineffectual, risky and unnecessary!

It wouldn’t be enough for me, but if you want some kind of peace of mind before visiting one, make sure you check the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) website to see if they’re regulated.

Of course, these types of ‘therapists’ will claim that they’re not trying to be chiropractors, even though they use words like ‘chiropractic’ and ‘adjustment’ in their marketing nonsense. They also tell others that they’re working towards being a chiro. Which one is it? Confusing right?

It’s because they’re backtracking from previous lies and attempting to fall within the confines of the law, but they’re failing!

If someone were to make a complaint to the GCC, they can investigate and take action against ‘therapists’ who use words like ‘adjustment’ because this means they are implying that they’re posing as a chiropractor, no matter what they call themselves. Personally, I call them con artists!

You now know the risks of high velocity techniques, and some of these uneducated robbers use a method known as the “ring dinger”

The victim is clamped onto a table, then they get their head yanked on in the attempt to decompress the spinal column. However, if you’ve been reading my recent posts, then you know why this doesn’t work 🪗

This is high risk, and many medical professionals and orthopaedic surgeons advise against it. This is because sudden traction can cause severe injury!

When I first saw it years ago, it equally made me both laugh and cringe 😬 Let’s face it, this isn’t therapy, it’s a brutalisation! It made me laugh because its name works perfectly with our Scots language…

“ Awright Davie, have you seen the guy on the socials who sorts oot backs like he’s trying to pull the heed aff a chicken? “

“ Aye, he’s an absolute ring dinger “

Some individuals even claim they designed this torture table themselves, even though it’s patented. If they can lie about this, what else can they lie about?

Qualifications?

Insurance?

Here’s another term we use in our Scots language… they are qualified in HEE HAW!

Remember, I told you ONLINE certification does not qualify anyone for insurance, but that doesn’t mean you can’t buy generic insurance online. This WILL NOT benefit anyone at a time of need!

Even if you actually turned up for a couple of days of tokenistic training, this doesn’t count as a qualification. If you work in the industry, you know the difference between a qualification and a participation award. I’m not saying you shouldn’t get something for it, but I’m thinking more of a special sticker ⭐️ or maybe a lollipop if you’ve been a clever boy 🍭

I’ve already talked enough about safety and risk in the previous posts so I won’t dwell on it too much longer, but instead I want to address other issues related to these imposters…

I’ve had many conversations now with other remedial therapists who are quite rightly concerned about the possible influx of this new breed of bogus therapist!

If you’re a therapist and we haven’t met, then let me put your mind at ease…

Our clients and the customers of the phony bu****itters are not the same. Our clients can see through falsehoods and they will not put themselves at risk!

Okay, maybe a few of your more gullible clients will give it a bash, or a member of the ‘look at me’ brigade who just want to share a video. They’ll be back in your treatment room in no time once they’ve worked out that it’s doing absolutely nothing!

To be fair, there’s another group. I’m seeing more and more of them because they’ve realised that they’ve been conned. They feel cheated that they parted with a lot of money, only to find out it has zero benefit!

However, to put a positive spin on it, if all that’s happened is nothing 🤞🏻 then be thankful. If all that’s been dented is your bank account and your pride then put it behind you. This has to be better than a dent in your health because you were savvy enough to remove yourself from the scam. So be proud of that!

Actually, it’ll be interesting to see how it goes once local curiosity fades and the majority have discovered that it’s just hocus pocus. What they’ll need to do is widen their client search by inventing more social media bu****it!

Before you know it, you’ll see a video with Ludwig from Germany who has travelled to Fife for his ‘special’ treatment. However, it’s more likely to be the ‘therapists’ uncle from Dysart, dressed up in lederhosen…

“ So Ludwig, you’ve travelled all the way here to see me because I’m the best therapist in all of the land. Where about in Germany are you from? “

“ Aye I’m fae Dysart 😰 I mean, Ja, I come from Dysartstadt, and I want you to play my spine like an oompah band accordion during oktoberfest, cheers, I mean prost “ 🤦‍♂️

Okay, these videos make us laugh because they’re the therapy equivalent of a sitcom, except no one is winning any awards for best actor. Here’s a top tip for new therapists… don’t get involved in this kind of behaviour, you’ll just discredit yourself, and remember therapy is not a spectator sport. Of course, show what you do, but don’t have the people of facebook laughing at you!

Let’s be serious for a moment, and say it like it is, because I could talk about this topic all day…

These fraudsters DO NOT know how to assess!

Meaning they DO NOT know when it’s safe to use these ridiculous methods!

Assessing a body properly CANNOT be done in a few minutes!

Assessing a body IS NOT about writing down what a person says then subjecting the same pile of 💩 on everyone!

Do you need to be a qualified and experienced therapist to know that this is happening? - NO!

Eyes, ears, and the ability to think for yourself is all that’s required!

CRUCIAL GUIDANCE - 2

I said in the previous post that social media is full of ‘smoke and mirrors’, and as you can see I’m now wearing a different cowboy hat. I’m still not any better at wrangling than before 🤠

I also said, that structural instability is a significant risk for people who receive high velocity ‘techniques’. I’ve been asked to explain this further by clients, so I’ll do my best to answer them in layman’s terms…

First of all, let’s stop calling it a ‘technique’, or a ‘manipulation’, or an ‘adjustment’. None of these words are accurate!

It’s a hit and hope method at its best. The real question is, can subjecting the body to a barrage of cracks really help people in pain?

If you believe it helps, then maybe it can, in a sense. You hear a few cracks and then the ‘therapist’ gets all excited about it. You now assume that something magical has just happened ✨

Obviously, what they’re attempting to do is decompress the spinal column, and that may happen temporarily. This means you may feel improvement for a short time or, the symptoms will worsen after a few hours or days!

This is because the muscles that support the spine are hyper-contracted for the majority of people in pain; and they will resist against any attempt to decompress the vertebrae. The ‘practitioner’ is forcefully trying to pull the vertebral column apart, but it’s not equipped to be attacked in this way. I’ll explain why…

Essentially, this damages the ligaments that hold the bones together for a steady back. This ranges from swelling and dysfunction to a complete rupture. If this happens, then it’s too late to ask for my help. For those who benefit from some relief, they will soon be disappointed because the spine will always return to its compressed state. This is by design!

It’s how both legit chiros and fake chiros make their money. It doesn’t matter how much they dress it up, or put a spin on it, because ultimately you’re their cash cow 🐮 They need you to have a glimmer of hope, so that you regularly yo-yo between pain and relief. To top it all off, they have the audacity to call it ‘maintenance’ 🤥

Maintenance couldn’t be any further from the truth because nothing is being maintained. The ‘practitioner’ is just playing the spine like an accordion, 🪗 by repeating the same procedure over and over until the spinal column becomes over-abused!

It’s called Over Manipulation Syndrome (OMS). When the ligaments that hold the vertebrae tightly in position become overstretched and loose, then you’re asking for trouble. The more aggressive the ‘technique’, the greater the risk. If this happens multiple times, then the risk increases each time!

With every high velocity ‘treatment’, the structural column becomes less supported. Not only the ligaments, but also the discs that hold the vertebrae firmly in place. Ligaments, discs, muscles and the vertebrae’s hinge-like connections need to work as a team; to support, stabilise and provide shock absorption!

This is why I focus on the soft tissue to get results, because it’s always the root of the problem. It also means I don’t need to unnecessarily abuse the backbone, which is generally trouble free for most people with back and neck pain. That’s until someone monkeys around with it for no reason!

Why create a problem to fix a problem? Or even worse, the existing problem continues and you now have some new ones to contend with!

In time, the receiver of high velocity methods should expect the following…

1️⃣ Joint instability

The vertebrae shift out of place because the bands of tissue connecting them are being pulled beyond their threshold.

2️⃣ Chronic pain

This is due to the abnormal joint mechanics.

3️⃣ Increased muscle pain

Muscles that are already over tight, will continue to tighten and spasm in an attempt to stabilise the affected joints.

4️⃣ Reduced ability to heal

Ligaments lack a robust blood supply.

There are other risk factors that I’ve mentioned in previous posts. These are actually way more concerning than OMS. Regardless of the risk, there’s only really two things to consider…

Firstly, is decompression important for pain relief?

Well it can be, for some at least, but not for the majority of people in pain. For those who it is a problem for, then the important thing to understand is - compressed vertebrae doesn’t just happen on its own. There are always other forces in play, and this is where an experienced therapist is required!

The second thing, and the most important question to ask yourself is…

Is a short term fix worth the risk of a bigger problem than you started with?

I know what my answer is, but it’s because I know the risks. I also know that I can decompress my own spine appropriately, safely and far more effectively by stretching at home. It also means I haven’t wasted money! 💰

Let’s get down to the nitty gritty…

High velocity ‘techniques’ may look and sound fancy, but the truth is it’s no more than a circus performance 🤡

Anyone reading this could learn how to do it all in a matter of hours, because it’s unskilled. It doesn’t require knowledge, experience or study!

The only qualities required for this type of role are…

📌 A disregard for the health and wellbeing of others

📌 A passion for money grabbing

📌 Ability to bu****it

📌 A ‘have a go’ attitude

If you can find these ‘attributes’ on your CV, then you’re perfect for this position!

Let’s really think about this for a moment…

If you’ve ever had a new house built, did you say to the builder…

“ Any chance you can knock it up without the foundations? I’m in a bit of a hurry “

Of course you didn’t, because you’re not stupid!

Just like you wouldn’t say to a therapist…

“ I need help with pain relief but how about reducing the stability of my spine in the process? That would be lovely “

These words will never leave the mouth of anyone ever, because most people have more than two brain cells to knock together!

Yet it’s happening! Why is that? Is it because they have suddenly lost their cognitive ability? 🤔

Unlikely, it’s because they’re desperate, and being lured into it by someone who is clueless about safety protocols. These kind of people are so unprincipled, that they are taking advantage of vulnerable people in pain for financial gain!

I hope I’ve satisfactorily answered the question on structural instability, and my message has come through, loud and clear! 🤠

CRUCIAL GUIDANCE

Social media is full of ‘smoke and mirrors’ and as you can see, I once wore a cowboy hat, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I’m an experienced wrangler! 🤠

So with this in mind, here are five DO’s and five DON’TS for therapists to remember, and clients to be aware of…

1️⃣ DO your training and assessments with recognised curriculums and not from a laptop.

Entry qualifications take time to complete. Certification is only awarded to candidates who meet all the required occupational standards. Online courses do not fulfill these requirements, or qualify for insurance that’s fit for purpose!

2️⃣ DO be honest about your knowledge, experience and qualifications.

If you’re trying to be something that you’re not, this will become very apparent the moment you share your ‘wisdom’ with the world. Remember, people who actually know what they’re talking about also use social media!

3️⃣ DO challenge ‘practitioners’ who invent problems, then forcefully create cracking noises as a placebo effect.

Some clients pop and crack in my treatment room but this is something that happens naturally when receiving manual therapy. It has no bearing on a successful treatment, because nothing is being adjusted. It’s simply a noise that comes from gas escaping with a sudden drop in pressure, just like opening a bottle of ch*****ne!

4️⃣ DO be true to your ethos.

Continually moving your ethical goalposts equals losing credibility. Over-explaining your motives is a subtle form of begging!

5️⃣ DO gain perspective.

I’m a supporter of aspiring therapists. I’m happy to put time aside for advice and support for anyone who feels they can benefit from it!

6️⃣ DON’T bu****it.

We’re talking about people’s health and wellbeing here, meaning we need to remember that we’re therapists and not selling used cars. Most people can see through BS, especially if you’re still in your therapy nappies and feigning your expertise!

7️⃣ DON’T profiteer.

It doesn’t matter how good you think you are, you will lose clients if your treatments are unaffordable. Unfairly increasing prices to fatten your wallet is unethical, and everyone knows that business costs don’t skyrocket over night!

8️⃣ DON’T turn your social media page into a cabaret act.

Your audience will only see a one trick pony. Aggressively abusing vulnerable areas of the body for entertainment value is not therapy. If you’re this type of ‘therapist’ then you’re already contributing to future problems by behaving in this way. If the spinal column continues to receive maltreatment then structural instability and chronic pain is the final destination, with no return ticket!

I’m generally the last therapist to pick up the problem after it’s been passed around clinics, to no avail. I know of clients that have received brutal methods that are inappropriate for their condition. This means it’s only a matter of time before something goes badly wrong!

When this happens, it means life changing injuries or worse. History tells us stories of tragedies that we need to learn from. If the ‘practitioner’ is unlicensed and has taken a shortcut with their education, then it means a prison sentence!

9️⃣ DON’T use my page as an example of marketing.

Plagiarism is pointless if you don’t understand the context. Whatever is rattling around in my head rarely has any impact on my bookings. I post every now and then for reasons of interest, awareness, and education.

🔟 DON’T put all your eggs in one social media basket.

I fill every appointment through word of mouth recommendations, and every successful treatment generates even more new clients. Surely, this has to be better than shamelessly bombarding everyone’s feed with the same money-driven nonsense? The best treatments I’ve had anywhere in the world are by therapists who have no interest in social media or advertising, but they’re busy because of reputation alone!

If you only remember one thing from this post then it should be this…

There are people out there with multiple certificates hanging on their wall that have been signed off by mickey mouse. They were educated at the school of tiktok, so what they’re selling lacks substance. This is why they need videos with gimmicks and hard sell tactics, like customers replying to leading questions!

I believe in choice. I have spent years developing my treatments, in a way that offers a realistic alternative.

BUT…

To do this safely, you need a solid foundation for everything else to follow. In other words, appropriate credentials. The worrying thing for the unwary is, they’re receiving ‘treatments’ from the unqualified and inexperienced without even knowing the risks!

Remember, being a therapy giver comes with core responsibilities and a duty of care. Even the worst ‘practitioners’ around can still claim success at times. However, short term wins can become longterm problems; especially when the vendor is “all hat and no cattle”

FUTURE WORKSHOPS

First of all, a big thank you and congratulations to Adele 🙌🏼 and Shona 🙌🏼 for being the first two therapists to successfully complete my remedial therapy workshop!

So when is the next one?

The honest answer is I don’t know!

I’m just putting this out there because I’ve been overwhelmed by messages from therapists wanting to get involved. I failed to recognise that this would have such an impact!

So I’m going to take some time to reflect on it, and consider on how I want to take it forward…

At the moment, time is my biggest hurdle. Trying to fit it around a busy diary is a challenge, and my travel plans aren’t helping ✈️

Many of you know that I tend to take a ‘manãna approach’ to life these days, but I always get there in the end. To put you in the picture, I’m the guy who’s still packing the case when I should have left for the airport half an hour ago! 😬

I also don’t want to fall into the trap of doing it too often, as I easily get bored when I regularly do the same thing over and over. It’s the reason I’d struggle to do table therapy, but it’s not because I’ve got a short attention span, it’s because, oh I just saw a butterfly 🦋

The main thing that I need to figure out is what do I want from this? Originally, it was about setting myself up with a retirement plan!

Recently though, I just wanted to prove that massage therapists who normally do routine based therapies make better remedial practitioners than the usual run of the mill stuff!

This isn’t about training therapists to be me, but it is about giving table massage therapists the tools to be better than a chiro or a physio for all the common problems associated with pain. All it took was changing how massage therapists think 🤔

What is the main reason that most therapists fail to get results?

They’re working with symptoms!

Chiros, physios, sports massage, acupuncturists and others. The list goes on for the type of therapy givers who all focus on the site of pain. Change the thinking then change the results!

Does this mean I don’t treat the symptoms?

No, I still do because I understand the importance of holistic working, and of course, it speeds up the recovery time. If I only work at the site of pain, then it’s likely to back in a few days or even hours!

Anyway, back to future workshops…

You know I take regular holidays because of the physicality of my job, and natural vitamin D helps massively with a rare autoimmune condition ☀️ but it’s definitely taking longer to recover than before!

My body copes better on some days than others, so I reckon this will be the deciding factor on creating more time for other projects.

I’m all about transparency, so this is all I can tell you right now, but I’m also impulsive so keep an eye on the page and I’ll get back to you once I’ve figured it all out!

Thanks for your patience 🙏
