Do you want to help shape autism and epilepsy research and care?

Our research team is exploring a new type of brain-scanning technology called OPM-MEG and wants to hear directly from autistic children and young people about their experience of the equipment and environment.

Taking part does not involve a brain scan. You will be invited to visit our research centre, in Lingfield Surrey, try on the OPM-MEG helmet, explore the scanning environment and share feedback about what works well and what could be improved.

We want to hear from autistic children and young people with epilepsy, or suspected epilepsy.

Your feedback will help make future research and clinical assessments more accessible and inclusive for autistic children and young people.

Young people with epilepsy are often defined by other people's assumptions.

That's why last year we teamed up with Jake Lambert and members of our Youth Voice Network to create a documentary exploring what happens when young people are given a microphone, a stage and the confidence to share their stories.

Through stand-up comedy, they tackle stigma, challenge misconceptions and show that epilepsy does not define who they are or what they're capable of.

The documentary also highlights the power of bringing young people together. As one of the young people explains, meeting others with shared experiences helped them realise they weren't alone.

🎬 You can watch the full documentary on YouTube now – https://youtu.be/Nh4-eNJetKk

If you'd like to help us create more opportunities like this for children and young people with epilepsy, tickets are now available for our next comedy night on 22 March 2027.

The perfect Christmas gift and every ticket sold helps support Young Epilepsy's work.

"If I’m open and honest about my epilepsy, people want to help.”

Renell, Youth Voice Network member, and our Youth Support team members Marianna and Alex emphasise how powerful understanding can be in protecting the epilepsy community from bullying, isolation and stigma.

On , hear them reflect on stories of bullying and social media harassment and why there's still a need to make offline and online spaces truly safe for young people living with epilepsy.

Every young person deserves to feel accepted and supported.

"We got the bright eyes back. We got the smiles." 💜

In this clip from our latest Let's Talk About Epilepsy podcast episode, Marie shares her daughter Amelia's experience of starting the ketogenic diet.

After trying multiple anti-seizure medications and continuing to experience up to 100 seizures a day, Marie explains the difference she saw when Amelia started ketogenic diet therapy, including a significant reduction in seizures and improvements in her alertness and engagement.

The episode also highlights an important message: while ketogenic diet therapy can be life-changing for some children and young people with drug-resistant epilepsy, it is a medical treatment that should always be managed by an experienced healthcare team.

A huge thank you to Vitaflo for sponsoring this episode and supporting conversations that help families better understand epilepsy treatment options.

🎧 Watch or listen to the full episode of the Let's Talk About Epilepsy podcast on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts and all major podcast platforms.

💜 Want to learn more about the ketogenic diet and epilepsy? Visit the Young Epilepsy website and search "Keto" for trusted information and support.

Remember epilepsy is a highly individualised condition. The information, experiences and views shared in this podcast may not reflect those of Young Epilepsy and are not intended to replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for personalised support.

If you're child is feeling sad, worried or lonely, they can text PURPLE to 85258 to start a conversation with a trained Shout volunteer 24/7.
