High prescription and tired of relying on glasses or contact lenses? 👁️

In this video, Ms Sancy Low explains Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) treatment, a vision correction option where a small lens is placed inside the eye to help improve focusing.

ICL may be considered for some people with higher myopic prescriptions, particularly where laser eye surgery may not be the preferred option.

Because no corneal tissue is removed, ICL can also offer a different pathway for patients concerned about issues such as dry eye.

The right treatment depends on your prescription, eye health and individual suitability, so a full assessment is essential.

If you’d like to understand whether ICL could be an option for you, book a consultation with Ms Sancy Low at Battersea Hospital.

Not every cataract needs treatment straight away. 👁️
In this video, Mr Robbie Walker, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, explains what cataracts are, the changes you may notice over time, and when surgery may become worth considering.
Symptoms can include blurred vision, glare or halos around lights, difficulty driving at night, or colours appearing different than they used to.
When cataracts begin to interfere with everyday life, cataract surgery may be discussed as an option. The cloudy natural lens is removed and replaced with an artificial lens, with the aim of improving vision.
If you’ve noticed changes in your eyesight or want to understand your options, book a consultation with Mr Robbie Walker at Battersea Hospital.

Today, our team took part in evacuation chair training with Phil Ward from Evac+Chair.
We covered some theory before spending most of the session getting hands-on practice using the chair to help people safely down the stairs. Everyone really enjoyed getting involved and learning together.
Training like this helps us feel more prepared to support people who may need assistance using the stairs during an emergency.
A big thank you to Phil for his patience and enthusiasm. His passion for training really came through, and he made the session easy to follow and enjoyable for everyone.

Thinking about rhinoplasty? What you do before surgery matters too.
In this video, Mr Annakan Navaratnam, Consultant ENT Surgeon, shares three important things patients should think about around nasal surgery, smoking and va**ng, excessive alcohol, and activities that could put the nose at risk of injury.
Good preparation is an important part of the surgical journey and helps your team plan treatment as safely as possible.
If you’re considering rhinoplasty or septorhinoplasty, your surgeon will give you personalised advice based on your health, lifestyle and planned procedure.

Sometimes the biggest difference isn’t just what you see, it’s how you feel. 🤍
After treatment for her varicose veins, one of our patients shared how much more confident she feels wearing dresses and skirts again after avoiding them for years.
We’re also incredibly proud to hear her kind words about the care she received from our team throughout her journey.
Every patient’s experience and results are individual, and the right treatment depends on a specialist assessment.
Considering treatment for varicose veins? Speak with our vascular team at Battersea Hospital.

21/10/2026

Varicose veins can sometimes return after treatment and the reason isn’t always the same for everyone.
Recurrence can depend on factors such as age, how well the vein valves are working, and whether there are other veins contributing to the problem, including pelvic veins that can become more prominent after pregnancy.
That’s why understanding the underlying cause matters just as much as treating the visible veins.
At Battersea Hospital, our vascular team assesses each patient individually and discusses the likelihood of recurrence, suitable treatment options, and what to expect longer term.
If your varicose veins have returned, or you’re considering treatment for the first time, book a consultation with our vascular team.

Choosing a plastic surgeon is about more than finding someone who can perform the procedure.
In this video, Mr Naveen Cavale explains the things he believes patients should look for when choosing the right surgeon, proper qualifications, GMC registration, appropriate insurance, professional memberships, local accessibility, and most importantly, someone you genuinely feel comfortable talking to.
A good consultation should feel open and honest. You should be able to ask questions, discuss concerns, understand what is realistically achievable, and make a decision without feeling pressured.
At Battersea Hospital, we believe choosing your surgeon is an important part of the patient journey - and trust, communication, and safety matter just as much as the procedure itself.
If you’re considering plastic surgery, take your time, ask the right questions, and choose someone you feel confident with.

Here’s a version that should work well for both TikTok and Instagram while keeping the wording educational and avoiding overpromising:
Short sightedness isn’t just about needing glasses. 👓
In this video, Ms Sancy Low explains how myopia can affect everyday eye comfort, especially when combined with screen time, contact lens use, allergies, dryness and city pollution.
Good eye care is often about the small habits too, taking regular screen breaks, spending time outdoors, keeping the eyes well lubricated and maintaining a healthy diet.
If your vision has changed, your contact lenses are becoming uncomfortable, or your eyes frequently feel dry or irritated, it may be worth having them checked.
Book an eye consultation with Ms Sancy Low at Battersea Hospital.
