💼 STRESS AWARENESS WEEK – DAY 4

Workplace stress isn’t just an individual problem.

It’s also an organisational responsibility.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) encourages employers to identify and manage work-related stress risks.

And there’s a very good reason for that.

Workplace stress can be influenced by:

🔹 Excessive workloads.

🔹 Lack of support.

🔹 Unclear responsibilities.

🔹 Poor workplace relationships.

🔹 Limited control over how work is carried out.

🔹 Organisational changes that aren’t communicated effectively.

Supporting employee wellbeing isn’t simply about encouraging people to practise mindfulness or take a break.

It’s also about looking at what’s happening within the working environment.

Having completed IOSH training in Managing Occupational Health and Wellbeing, alongside my professional hypnotherapy training, I recognise the importance of both prevention and individual support.

We cannot expect employees to manage stress effectively if the workplace continues to create unnecessary pressure.

Employers have an important role in creating environments where people feel safe, respected and supported.

💬 A question for employers and managers:

When was the last time you asked your team how they’re really coping?

🌿 STRESS AWARENESS WEEK – DAY 3

When was the last time you gave yourself permission to pause?

We live in a world where being busy is often seen as being productive.

But constantly pushing ourselves without taking a moment to reset can leave us feeling mentally and physically exhausted.

Today, I’d like to share something simple.

💚 A moment to reset.

1️⃣ Place both feet comfortably on the floor.

2️⃣ Relax your shoulders.

3️⃣ Take a slow, comfortable breath.

4️⃣ Notice where you’re holding tension.

5️⃣ Allow yourself a moment without rushing to the next task.

You don’t need to wait until you’re overwhelmed before taking care of your wellbeing.

Small moments throughout the day can help us become more aware of how we’re feeling.

In my hypnotherapy practice, I support people experiencing stress, anxiety and overthinking.

Sometimes, creating a little space for ourselves is a helpful place to begin.

💬 Here’s my question:

Do you find it easy to take a break during your working day, or do you feel guilty when you stop?

🧠 STRESS AWARENESS WEEK – DAY 2

Dyslexia and workplace stress: Let’s talk about it.

Being dyslexic doesn’t automatically mean someone experiences more stress.

But working in an environment where your needs aren’t understood can create unnecessary pressure.

Imagine constantly worrying about:

💚 Being asked to read aloud during meetings.

💚 Making spelling mistakes in emails.

💚 Being judged for how you process information.

💚 Taking longer to complete certain written tasks.

💚 Feeling you have to work twice as hard to prove yourself.

For some dyslexic employees, these experiences can affect confidence, self-esteem and emotional wellbeing.

But here’s something important.

Dyslexia isn’t a lack of intelligence or ability.

Dyslexic individuals can bring creativity, fresh perspectives, practical problem-solving skills and valuable strengths to the workplace.

Sometimes it’s not the person who needs to change.

It’s the environment and the understanding around them.

As a dyslexic hypnotherapist, I’m passionate about helping people feel understood, confident and supported.

💬 I’d love to hear your thoughts.

What is one thing employers could do to better support dyslexic employees?

💙 A personal achievement and another step forward in my work.

I’m proud to have successfully completed Managing Occupational Health and Wellbeing, a course approved and validated by IOSH, delivered through Amtivo Health & Safety Limited.

As someone with dyslexia, completing further learning means a great deal to me. Thank you to the team at Amtivo for their support throughout the course.

My health and safety background has taught me that workplace wellbeing is about more than helping someone cope. It also means understanding the pressures they face and creating an environment where they feel heard, supported and able to ask for help.

This learning strengthens the understanding I bring to my hypnotherapy sessions, workplace talks and workshops.

It also connects closely with Supporting Dyslexic Minds recognising the person behind the challenges, valuing their strengths and supporting their confidence and emotional wellbeing.

I’m proud to keep learning and developing the support I offer.

If you would like to discuss individual hypnotherapy or workplace wellbeing support, you are welcome to get in touch.

🌿 STRESS AWARENESS WEEK 2026

Day 1: Stress doesn’t always look like stress.

When we think about stress, we often picture someone who is visibly overwhelmed.

But stress isn’t always obvious.

Sometimes it looks like:

💚 Smiling when you’re struggling inside.

💚 Saying “I’m fine” when you’re exhausted.

💚 Overthinking conversations long after they’ve happened.

💚 Finding it difficult to switch off after work.

💚 Feeling that you’re constantly trying to keep up.

In the workplace, people can become very good at hiding how they’re really feeling.

And sometimes, those who appear to be coping are the ones who need support the most.

As a hypnotherapist with a background in occupational health and wellbeing, I believe recognising stress is an important first step.

We need workplaces where people feel comfortable speaking up without fear of judgement.

💬 My question for today:

Do you think people feel comfortable admitting they’re stressed at work?

💕 One of the things I love most about the Irish Hypnotherapy Conference (IHC)!

I love sharing experiences, exchanging ideas and learning from one another. There’s always something new to discover!

I had a lovely catch-up with Tracey McGill from Derry Hypnosis! 💕 It was great to have a good chat and a laugh together.

That’s what I love about the hypnotherapy community. We all have our own experiences, knowledge and approaches, but we share a passion for helping others.

And sometimes, it’s simply about making connections and enjoying each other’s company! 🥰

🦸‍♀️💙 WONDER WOMAN HAS HER SUPERPOWERS… AND I’VE GOT MINE! 😂

Mine just happens to be a DYSLEXIC BRAIN! 🧠✨

YES, I’M DYSLEXIC… AND PROUD OF IT!

I’ve been dyslexic since I was a wee girl growing up in Derry, Northern Ireland.

Has it always been easy? Absolutely not!

Spelling? Well, we’ve had our disagreements! ✍️😂

Overthinking? Oh, I’m very good at that!

Giving up? Not my style! 💪

For years, I focused more on what I struggled with than what I was actually capable of achieving.

But look at me now!

💙 Running my own hypnotherapy business.

🎤 Speaking at conferences.

🎥 Completing my 21-day video challenge and putting myself out there!

🧠 Using my lived experience to support others.

Who would have thought that wee girl from Derry would be doing all that?

Dyslexia hasn’t stopped me. It’s part of what makes me who I am today!

Now, don’t get me wrong. Dyslexia isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. There are challenges, frustrations and days when my brain decides to take the scenic route! 😂

And I know not everyone sees dyslexia as a superpower, and that’s absolutely okay.

But me?

I’m claiming my superpower, cape and all! 🦸‍♀️❤️

Because dyslexic minds deserve to be seen, heard, understood and celebrated.

That’s why I’m so passionate about Supporting Dyslexic Minds through Lafferty Hypnotherapy.

Helping adults and young people build confidence, self-belief and emotional wellbeing.

Not changing who they are, but helping them feel confident being themselves.

So here’s to thinking differently, embracing our individuality and being proud of who we are.

💙 I’M DYSLEXIC. I’M PROUD. AND I’M NOT HIDING IT ANYMORE!

Now, where did I leave my cape? 😂🦸‍♀️
