This week is International Stress Awareness Week. Stress can affect anyone at any stage of life, but for many older people it can be made worse by loneliness, health concerns, or difficulty getting out and about.
At People to Places, we see every day how important staying connected and maintaining social connections can be.

If you or someone you know is feeling overwhelmed, support is available:
🔹 Mind in Berkshire offers free mental health support, advice and wellbeing services for people living in Windsor & Maidenhead.
https://www.mindinberkshire.org.uk
🔹 Age UK Berkshire provides activities, advice, social groups and services to help older people stay connected and reduce loneliness.
https://www.ageuk.org.uk/berkshire
🔹 RBWM Health & Wellbeing Hub has information on local wellbeing activities, walking groups and community support.

Remember, asking for support is a sign of strength, not weakness. A conversation, a visit, or even a short journey to something you enjoy can make a real difference ☺️

Shopmobility Maidenhead is Open Again!

We're delighted to be welcoming customers back to our new home in the former Caffè Nero unit in Maidenhead town centre.

After the closure of our Nicholson Centre shop, we've continued operating from temporary arrangements at the Town Hall. Having a dedicated base once again will allow us to provide an even better service for local people who need mobility support.

🕘 Open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am-4.30pm (last hire 3.00pm)

If you are eligible to use disabled parking bays, you can park in Park Street behind the Town Hall and call 07514 771536. A member of our team will bring your scooter out to you.

We're also looking for Volunteer Shop Assistants. Interested? Email [email protected].

We look forward to seeing you soon! 😊

Here at Shopmobility, we are dedicated to supporting independence. Here’s what Bob, aged 87, has to say about the Shopmobility service:

“In April 2026 my darling wife Cynthia passed away. I am now learning how to live on my own and it’s a struggle. I have used this wonderful service for many years and without it, I would be ‘up the creek without a paddle’! Shopmobility is my lifeline, it allows me to maintain my independence and mobility. The team are wonderful and I dread to think how I would manage without them.”
