I had an interesting conversation with my GP about vitamin B12 following my sleeve gastrectomy, and it got me thinking.

Guidance changes as evidence develops, and recommendations around B12 supplementation after bariatric surgery are no exception.

But there's a difference between preventing a deficiency and waiting until someone becomes deficient.

As a nurse AND someone who's had bariatric surgery myself, I can see this conversation from both sides.

I'm curious — if you've had weight loss surgery, are you offered regular B12 injections, or do you only receive them if your levels drop?
