💭 THE QUESTION NOBODY THINKS TO ASK…

🌿 “Are you actually okay, or have you just become really good at coping?”

You know the feeling… 👇

💛 You smile when people ask how you are.
💛 You carry on because everyone relies on you.
💛 You say “I’m fine” because explaining feels exhausting.
💛 You put everyone else first, even when you’re running on empty.
💛 You tell yourself other people have it worse, so you shouldn’t complain.

But here’s the thing…

Being able to cope doesn’t always mean you’re okay. ❤️

You don’t have to reach breaking point before you deserve support.

At A Safe Place, I believe everyone deserves somewhere they can talk openly, feel heard and work through what’s happening in their world — without judgement.

🌱 Whether it’s anxiety, family difficulties, relationship breakdowns, low confidence, emotional struggles or simply feeling overwhelmed by life, you don’t have to figure everything out alone.

✨ Let’s start a conversation…

👇 Be honest — which one sounds most like you?

A) I’m genuinely okay 😊
😎 I’m coping, but it’s hard 💛
C) I’m exhausted from being the strong one ❤️
D) I’m not okay, but I don’t know where to start 🌿

You can comment with just a letter if that’s easier.

📩 If you need support, A Safe Place is here to help.

You matter, too. 💛

💭💛 LET’S TALK… YES OR NO? 💛💭

Sometimes the simplest questions can make us stop, think and see things a little differently. 🧠✨

Here at A Safe Place, we believe that understanding ourselves and others is the first step towards positive change.

So, let’s have a little fun! 👇

🌿 Today’s YES or NO questions:

💛 Do you find it difficult to say no to people, even when you want to?

🧠 Do you ever overthink a conversation long after it has ended?

❤️ Do you think talking about your feelings should be as normal as talking about your physical health?

🤔 Have you ever said you were fine when you really weren’t?

🌱 Do you believe it’s never too late to change your life?

🫶 Do you think everyone deserves a safe space where they can talk without fear of being judged?

😂 Have you ever rehearsed an entire conversation in your head before actually having it?

💬 YOUR TURN!

Comment YES or NO below! 👇 There’s no right or wrong answer — just an opportunity to reflect, connect and maybe have a little giggle along the way. 😊

A Safe Place Mentoring

Supporting the next generation of social workers

Are you a social work student or newly qualified social worker looking for guidance, reassurance and practical support?

Social work is an incredibly rewarding profession, but it can also feel overwhelming. From placements and assignments to managing complex cases, professional boundaries and the emotional demands of the role, finding your feet can be challenging.

At A Safe Place, I offer individual mentoring to help you build confidence, strengthen your practice and navigate your journey into the profession.

What can mentoring help with?

* Student support: Preparing for placements, developing professional skills and linking theory to practice.
* Newly qualified support: Navigating your first role, building confidence and developing your professional identity.
* Reflective practice: Exploring professional dilemmas, decision-making and learning from experience.
* Understanding the realities of social work: Boundaries, accountability, safeguarding, recording and working with families.
* Professional development: Preparing for interviews, applications, assessments and career progression.
* Wellbeing and resilience: Managing the emotional demands of social work and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Why choose A Safe Place?

I am a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with experience in children’s services and mental health, including CAMHS.

My approach is practical, approachable and non-judgemental. I understand that developing into a confident social worker takes time, experience and the opportunity to talk things through.

This is a space where you can ask questions, explore challenges and develop your confidence without feeling that you should already have all the answers.

Available for one-to-one mentoring in Southsea and online.

Whether you are preparing for your first placement or finding your feet in your first qualified role, you do not have to navigate the journey alone.

Get in touch with A Safe Place to discuss mentoring and availability.

A stronger start. Greater confidence. Support for the social worker you are becoming.

🍂🍁 WHAT IF YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO BE THE STRONG ONE TODAY? 🍁🍂

☕ The one who holds everything together.
🍂 The one who checks everyone else is OK.
🤎 The one who says “I’m fine” because explaining how you really feel seems like too much effort.

As the leaves fall and the seasons change, remember that you’re allowed to slow down, too. 🍁🌿
Sometimes, the people who look like they’re coping the best are the ones who need a little support themselves.

☕ You don’t need to justify how you feel.
🤎 And you certainly don’t have to face everything alone.
At A Safe Place, there’s room for you to pause, talk things through and work out your next step — without judgement. 🌿🧡

💙 Social Work Students & Newly Qualified Social Workers – You Don’t Have to Figure It All Out Alone

Starting out in social work can feel overwhelming. University gives you the theory, but understanding how social work works in practice is a journey in itself.

From safeguarding procedures, assessments and report writing to legislation, professional boundaries, managing challenging situations and building confidence in your own decision-making, there is so much to learn.

And sometimes, what you really need is someone who understands the job and can help you make sense of it all. 🤍

At A Safe Place, I offer mentoring, guidance and practical support to social work students and newly qualified social workers who want to develop their knowledge, build confidence and better understand the realities of frontline social work.

With a social work degree from the University of Portsmouth, over 15 years of frontline child protection experience and experience as a mental health practitioner within CAMHS, I understand the challenges, the responsibilities and the importance of having the right support around you.

🌿 Support can include:
✨ Understanding the social work role and processes in practice
✨ Safeguarding, assessments and professional responsibilities
✨ Developing professional confidence and decision-making
✨ Reflective practice and learning from experience
✨ Understanding legislation, policies and procedures
✨ Navigating the transition from student to qualified practitioner
✨ Having a safe, supportive space to ask questions without feeling judged

My aim is to help you bridge the gap between theory and practice, feel more confident in your role and remember why you chose social work in the first place.

You don’t need to know everything. You need the willingness to learn, the courage to ask questions and the support to keep developing.

Whether you’re a student on placement or newly qualified and finding your feet, I’m here to help. 💙

🌅 Sometimes, all we need is to slow down and take it all in. 🤍

Life can be a bit of a whirlwind, can’t it?

We’re always rushing about, worrying about what’s next, thinking about what’s gone wrong and wondering whether we’re doing enough.

Before we know it, we’ve forgotten to appreciate what’s right in front of us.

The beauty of a quiet moment. A bit of fresh air. A proper chat with someone who cares. The chance to start again after a difficult time.

The truth is, you don’t need to have everything sorted to find a little happiness along the way.

You’re allowed to have a difficult time and still enjoy the good bits of life. You’re allowed to take a breather, put the world on hold for a moment and just be.

At A Safe Place, we believe everyone deserves a little kindness, a listening ear and somewhere they can feel comfortable being themselves — without feeling judged or having to pretend everything’s fine.

💭 Here’s something to have a think about today:

If you could put one worry to one side and do something just for yourself today, what would it be?

Sometimes, a little reminder at the right time can make all the difference. ❤️

If this resonates with you, give it a share. You never know who might need to hear it today.
