What a weekend! 💕

I’ve just finished teaching my very first Jikiden Reiki Shoden seminar, and it was such a heart-led, soul-nourishing weekend. I’ll admit I was nervous going in, but so excited, and I couldn’t have asked for three more lovely students.

Traditional Japanese Reiki is so simple, yet there’s such depth within that simplicity. It led to the most beautiful conversations over the two days. The ideas really resonated with everyone, and you could see the little connections lighting up as we talked. It’s not just a hands-on treatment. Usui named it Shinshin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryoho, meaning Usui Reiki treatment method for the improvement of body and mind, a way of living a happier, healthier life. I feel like I’m living proof of that, because reiki has helped me grow as a person and experience so much more peace in my life, and that’s exactly why I wanted to teach: so I can help others experience the amazing benefits of this healing method for themselves.

I can’t wait to see my lovely students at a Reiju Kai so we can continue practising and growing together, and building this Jikiden Reiki community.

Seminars are kept small, so places are likely to fill up quickly, but I’m happy to take names for the waiting list for future training dates if you’re interested. I run them from The Reiki Edit in Higham, Kent. If you’re looking to experience or learn a profound natural healing method to support your mind and body, keep an eye on my Instagram and Facebook for upcoming dates, or drop me a message.

If you’re not local to me but would still like to find a course near you, visit the Jikiden Reiki UK Association website:

Much love,
Hayley 💕✨

💗 Jikiden Reiki 💗 Traditional Japanese hands-on healing that supports your body’s natural ability to restore balance, heal and regulate.

📍Based in Lower Higham, Kent

Reiki is often thought of as just relaxation, but it can support much more than that.

When we live with ongoing stress, the nervous system can stay stuck in fight-or-flight mode. This can affect sleep, emotional wellbeing, healing, energy levels and how we cope with life’s challenges.

By helping the body return towards homeostasis (its natural state of balance), clients often find Reiki supports:
✨ Stress, grief, anxiety and emotional overwhelm
✨ Burnout and nervous system dysregulation
✨ Supporting the body’s natural healing after injury or illness, as well as providing gentle support through long term illness
✨ Releasing stored emotional tension and trauma patterns
✨ Feeling “stuck” emotionally or psychologically
✨ Deep fatigue or feeling energetically depleted
✨ Supporting the body’s natural detoxification processes
✨ Deep rest and restoration

Your body already knows how to heal. Sometimes it just needs a little help, and that’s where I come in💞

Come see me at The Reiki Edit where I offer gentle hands-on treatment, in a private, peaceful space, where you can slow down, reset and receive the care and time you deserve.

Check out the website to book, for client testimonials and more information.

WHAT IS REIKI?

Did you know the word Reiki has existed in Japan for over a thousand years? 🌿✨

Long before it became a healing practice in the 1920s, “Reiki” was a beautiful word used to describe a mysterious, sacred atmosphere.

In fact, old Japanese texts often describe it as the pure, spiritual energy that fills a deep, untouched forest. 🌲

Reiki means mysterious or miraculous energy.

The original name for Reiki treatment is “Shin Shin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryōhō”, which translates as “Usui Reiki Treatment Method for Improvement of Body and Mind.”

Reiki is a Japanese healing technique founded and developed by Mikao Usui, and it has been effective in helping with virtually every known illness, while always creating a beneficial effect.

Put simply, during a Reiki treatment, the practitioner receives Reiki energy from the Universe, which flows through their body and is then passed on to the recipient. In this way, the practitioner acts as a channel for this pure energy, helping to reactivate the recipient’s own natural healing process.

Reiki works with the whole person, including body, emotions, mind and spirit, and can create many beneficial effects, including deep relaxation and a feeling of peace, security and overall wellbeing.

It can be very effective in improving physical and psychological health.

Reiki can also be used alongside other medical or therapeutic techniques, helping to relieve side effects and support a quicker recovery.

One of the beautiful things about Reiki is how simple it is. It doesn’t depend on a person’s educational background, spiritual development or previous experience. Reiki is available to everyone.

Although Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. You don’t need to follow a particular belief system or have any spiritual beliefs to receive Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all. It will work whether you believe in it or not.

So, I’m curious… have you ever received Reiki?

If you have, what was your experience like?

And if you’ve never tried Reiki, what has stopped you?

Is there something you’ve heard about Reiki that has made you unsure, sceptical or simply curious but hesitant to give it a try

✨ Summer 2026 Competition Winner ✨

A beautiful treatment yesterday with my Summer 2026 competition winner Lucy Beckett who also happens to be a friend I’ve known for quite some time. 💜

She’s been meaning to come for a Reiki treatment for ages, but life has been busy and somehow she just hadn’t got around to it. So I was absolutely thrilled when her name came up in the random picker!

I love choosing my competition winners this way. I always feel that when I leave it to the universe to choose, the right person is sent to me at exactly the right time. And this time, I really feel that was the case. ✨

It was so lovely to finally give her the opportunity to experience her first traditional Japanese Jikiden Reiki treatment, and even better to hear how much she enjoyed it.

I love being able to gift these experiences to people who might really need a little time for themselves. 💜

I run a Reiki competition every season, so keep an eye on my Instagram and pages and make sure you enter when the next one comes around…

You never know — it could be you next! ✨

JRUKA Members: £25
JRUKA Non-members: £35

Beerling Hall is a beautiful location by the river next to Solly’s Orchard. A beautiful picnic spot and a 3 min walk from Canterbury high street.

The closest car park opposite Solly’s Orchard is St. Radigund’s Or there is Pound Lane car park next to the Marlow Theatre, but it’s more expensive there.

Reiju-kai meetings are a wonderful opportunity for students and teachers to come together. Jikiden Reiki students can receive more Reiju, practice and revise part of their training. Practice treatments together, get greater experience of byosen and treating others in a group setting. They provide a space for you to refresh your knowledge and understanding of Jikiden Reiki, ask questions and spend time with like minded people. They are truly a lovely way to reconnect and deepen your practice💕

We hope to see many of you there ☺️
