Come and visit the Origin Soil Nutrition team on Stand 43 (near the sheep show ring) to discover how balanced soil nutrition can help you get more from your grassland and support better livestock performance.
We'll be on hand to discuss:
🌱 Soil analysis – Understanding your results and identifying opportunities to improve soil fertility.
🐑 Daily liveweight gains – How balanced nutrition can help support livestock growth and performance.
🌾 Nutrient use efficiency – Getting more from your nitrogen and making every application count.
🚜 Forage quality – How the right fertiliser choices can help produce higher-quality forage.
Whether you have soil analysis results you'd like to discuss or simply want to explore ways to improve grassland productivity, we'd love to have a chat!
📍 Find us on Stand 43, near the sheep show ring.

With grass harvest in full swing across much of the country, any nutrition that is applied between cuts should not only replace offtake but lead to improved grass quality for future cuts.

As we know, producing high yields of low-quality grass isn’t going to maximise your return, so tailoring nutrition is essential to boost production.

This is why Origin has created Vita-Grass – a range of products where every granule contains small amounts of selenium, cobalt and iodine, and a grade that contains ICL Growing Solutions UK Polysulphate providing 9 nutrients designed to give farmers an alternative form of livestock nutrient supplementation in a single bag.

It’s nutrition that is vital for grass, and vital for the animal. 🐄 🐑

The Cost of Soil Sampling 💷
What’s the difference between a basic and broad-spectrum soil sample?

Basic
• Only covers the main macro nutrients

Broad spectrum
• Provides accurate levels of the full nutrient spectrum, allowing all nutrient deficiencies to be taken into consideration

The physical process of collecting the samples is no different, but the difference in the detail is vast.

The per hectare difference between a standard and broad-spectrum test is an increase of just £2.85/ha. Averaged out across a five-year period, it’s a 57p/ha/yr increase to change from a standard to a broad-spectrum nutrient analysis.

The real cost of staying with a standard sample could be much higher than you think, as growers and agronomists won’t have the data to improve yield and quality.

We talk about soil sampling a lot as it’s a vital process to achieve the right crop nutrition, but how does it work?

Read our Nutrition Agronomist Abby Kellett's blog on why soil sampling is vital to improve grassland performance, and get some tips on taking them and then implementing a fertiliser strategy to deliver the best results.
