One of the things I love about New York is it’s endless possibilities.
Sat by a lake in Central Park listening to the sound of a musician play the trumpet.
Seeing a bagel stand grow to its first premises.
The old Italian restaurants who have been doing what they’ve done for 100 years with a plethora of celebrity photos upon the entrance.
And I guess the one thing they all have in common is that they gave it a shot.
I love the “why not” mentality and if I could bottle it, I want that in my supps stack going forward.
Because although I’m driven, and ambitious, this trip has made me realise I worry too much.
I worry too much about the future; and don’t spend nearly as much time thinking about the now.
And what’s the point in worrying about the future if I’m not here in the present.
The last time we came to New York was 8 years ago. And I’m a completely different person to who I was then.
The world’s a different place too.
This time New York felt like a liberation of creativity and inspiration.
The constraints I’d put on myself with age, rule books or pressure had limited me and stifled me creatively.
Like somehow I’d unknowingly boxed myself in to playing small, not something I’d ever have thought I could do - and yet, here in New York, everyone was playing big.
Everyone was living big in the big apple.
And the question wasn’t what’s making me play small, but how I make sure I live as big as I can each day 🍎
