Have you got a copy of my book, Heal Your Pain – The Get Me Out of Pain Book?

I’ve sold around 2,000 copies, and I wanted to tell you a little bit about why I wrote it.

This is a simple, practical self-help book. If a particular area of your body is hurting, you can turn to that section, look at the photographs and follow the exercises to help you understand and work with your body.

There’s no long-winded text or pages and pages about me. Instead, it’s packed with photographs and clear instructions to help you understand what to do and how to do it.

I wanted to create something you could keep at home and turn to whenever you needed a little help with your body. A book that gives you practical tools, rather than just lots of information to read.

The hardback book costs £15, and there’s now an e-book available too!

I’ve never sold my book through shops. You can find it directly through my website, where you can have a look at both book options.

Visit carolinejclarke.com and look under Books.

I’ve also written a training manual for people learning to become Postural Alignment specialists, but I’ll tell you more about that another day!

If you want a practical self-help book to keep in your home, do go and have a look.

Take care, everyone! www.carolinejclarke.com

NECK AND SHOULDER PAIN? TRY THIS!

This exercise is called the Static Extension Position, and it can be a fantastic way to work on neck and shoulder discomfort.

Working on all fours, you gently bring your weight forward through your hands, loading the four key joints: your wrists, elbows, shoulders and neck. Add a slight tilt of the pelvis to bring your hips into the movement too.

You may feel discomfort around the neck that extends towards the shoulder blades. The aim is to help your body adapt to the loading, allowing that discomfort to settle rather than build.

Please listen to your body. Make sure you can comfortably get into this position, start gently, and never push through pain. If the exercise increases your pain or causes new symptoms, stop.

I love how simple movements can help us understand our bodies and work towards moving more comfortably.

Have you tried this exercise? Let me know how you get on in the comments!

And don’t forget to share this reel with friends and family who might find it helpful.

LOWER BACK PAIN? LET’S GET THAT PSOAS WORKING!

Today’s exercise focuses on your psoas, one of your primary hip flexor muscles, using a controlled lifting movement.

It’s a very guided exercise and can be surprisingly challenging, so take your time and work at your own pace.

Here’s what to do:

* Lift your leg 10 times.
* Hold the position for 10 seconds.
* Repeat another 10 lifts.
* Then swap sides and repeat.

Remember, control is more important than height. Listen to your body, and if anything hurts or doesn’t feel right, stop the exercise.

Give it a try and let me know how you get on!

If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch. I’m always happy to help.

Let’s get those legs working together!

If your knees fall inwards and your feet turn outwards, a bit like Donald Duck, this exercise could be perfect for you!

All you need is a rigid belt, a cushion or pillow, and the floor. That’s it!

Follow the video and practise consistently, twice a day, for a month. You may start to notice changes in how you stand, move and walk, and how your knees feel.

Remember, every body is different, so work within your comfort zone and stop if you experience pain.

What a fabulous catch-up we had last night with my Train the Trainers team!

I work with Zoe and Casey, and now Jan is joining us to help with the training too. It’s so exciting to see our team growing and supporting more people.

Last night, Mimi, who joins us from the USA, shared her experiences of working with so many different people. One of the things that really stood out was how important the continuity of classes has been for her.

She explained how, by continuing to come to class, she has become less afraid and more confident. Now, when she hears new people joining and talking about their worries, she can think, “Gosh, I used to sound like that, but I don’t anymore!” What a wonderful thing to be able to recognise in yourself. ❤️

That is exactly why consistency, support and feeling safe within a class are so important. It’s not just about the exercises; it’s about the confidence and understanding that grow along the way.

And then Leslie told me about some barefoot shoes, which I’ve now bought for Richard! Leslie, your reputation is certainly travelling far and wide here, thanks to Casey Lyon!

I love these catch-ups. We learn so much from each other, share our experiences and celebrate how far everyone has come.

Don’t forget to share this reel with anyone who might enjoy being part of our journey.

LET’S GET THOSE SHOULDERS MOVING!

Our shoulders are designed to move in so many directions, but so often we lose that freedom of movement and our shoulders become stiff and restricted.

In this reel, I’m showing you a couple of exercises leading into elbow curls, which are fantastic for encouraging movement throughout the whole shoulder girdle.

Remember, it’s all about movement, not forcing it!

Listen to your body, take your time and work within the range of movement that feels comfortable for you. There’s no need to rush. Let your body guide you.

The aim is to encourage as much comfortable movement as possible and help keep those shoulders moving freely.

If you need a little help with your posture or movement, just message me. I’m always happy to help, whether it’s answering a question or having a chat with you online.

You don’t have to work it all out on your own. I’m here for you!

Are you using your knees for stability instead of letting them work as a hinge? 🤔

Your knees are designed to bend and straighten, helping you move freely and comfortably. How you use them can make a real difference to the way you stand, balance and walk.

I’ve just shared a simple little exercise for you to try. It takes hardly any time, but it can have a BIG impact! 🙌

Sometimes it’s the smallest movements that make the biggest difference to how our bodies work.

Give it a try, follow the instructions in my reel, and let me know what you notice. I’d love to hear your comments! ❤️

Movement is key to life!
