Returning home after a stroke can be a major milestone. It can also be the point at which the reality of someone’s longer-term support needs begins to become clear.

Harland Care Services, part of Parador Group, is registered with the CQC to support medically-optimised patients through the Discharge to Assess process.

This allows care and support to be provided at home while the person’s longer-term needs are understood in the setting where they will actually live.

On World Stroke Day, we are recognising the importance of a safe, well-supported transition home - and the people who help recovery continue beyond the hospital door.

We’re recruiting: Female Support Worker / Carer
📍 Eastleigh, Hampshire | £15.71 per hour | Full-time and part-time contracted hours

Harland Care Services is looking for a patient, reliable person to join the care team of a 63-year-old woman who lives with the effects of a traumatic brain injury.

She enjoys writing poetry, listening to Absolute 80s, word games, drawing and painting. She would welcome someone who takes time to understand her, respects her independence and stays calm when situations change.

You’ll need care experience, ideally supporting someone with a brain injury or behaviours that challenge. Specialist training is provided. Shifts include early and late shifts and alternate weekends, with a minimum of 21 hours per week. A full UK driving licence and access to your own car are required.
