💙 What does travelling with dialysis really feel like?

Our Travel Dialysis Confidence Report 2026 looked beyond the practical side of organising treatment and listened to how people experience travel itself.

Six themes emerged from the research: vulnerability, freedom, peer proof, trust, planning load and resilience.

The first is vulnerability. For some people on dialysis, travel can be viewed through concerns about health, safety and staying in control. Understanding those feelings is an important step towards helping travel feel more possible. ✈️🌍

This research began with a focus group of 11 participants, whose insights helped shape a questionnaire that gathered 1,380 responses in the UK and USA.
